You're right about St. Andrew but Patrick was Irish, technically British as it was pre-1916 borders but nonetheless.
But that's exactly why the jocks don't make much a big of a deal about Andrew as the Welsh do about David or Irish about Patrick, he's as much relevancy to Scotland as is St George or the Royal family to England.
