Plenty space in the sunderland half mate, go for it.12 miles this morning. Absolutely gorgeous day.
3 minutes quicker than my previous best, with the last 6 miles considerably quicker than the first 6.
This leaves me with a bit of a quandary. My previous target for the Sunderland Half Marathon was to finish with no expectations on time. I am now frustratingly close to being able to get under two hours.
I know on the day I'll be slower due to the number of people out there but I can't help but think I will be disappointed with my time.
Going to try and cover some of that over the next couple of weeks. Done the north side loads of times but never done the south side of the route. Our for a training run with a gb athlete, Alyson Dixon, going to do the Sunderland half marathon course.
Going some if you keep up with her . . she's an absolute machineOur for a training run with a gb athlete, Alyson Dixon, going to do the Sunderland half marathon course.
I always seem to see her when I'm at the end of a run and knackered and she gans sprinting past me. Truth is that she's probably already ran twice as far as me.Going some if you keep up with her . . she's an absolute machine
Seen her win the wallington XC last November from the fast pack (4 min handicap on most of the field). She won at a canter and barely looked tired. . don't think she even does much XC eitherI always seem to see her when I'm at the end of a run and knackered and she gans sprinting past me. Think it was agreed not to do faster than 7 minute miles pace. Managed to do about 13.5 in 100 minutes. Pleased with that as was worried that I wasn't going to manage the distance for the Sunderland half. Going to aim for sub 90! Group of about 10 of us out this morning with a lead cyclist.Going some if you keep up with her . . she's an absolute machine
I honestly wouldn't bother, you won't get lost. It's only 3 miles when you cross the bridge.Going to try and cover some of that over the next couple of weeks. Done the north side loads of times but never done the south side of the route.
She hates xc! I do too like.Seen her win the wallington XC last November from the fast pack (4 min handicap on most of the field). She won at a canter and barely looked tired. . don't think she even does much XC either
Don't know anybody that really loves XC . . .i find if you suffer it through the winter it makes the road running easier though. . .think it strengthens the legs. Good luck with the sunderland half. . .looking forward to it myself. . .is the route fairly flat?Think it was agreed not to do faster than 7 minute miles pace. I guess so, long way to travel for a training run! Aye no nasty climbs, if I can stay injury free, I'm confident of getting a good time. Only be disappointed if I don't beat my previous best of 97.Don't know anybody that really loves XC . . .i find if you suffer it through the winter it makes the road running easier though. . .think it strengthens the legs.
