he played all the kids in the second half as hes started to realise he might need a few to step up to the first team.checking them out.

“My idea was to have, out of my squad of 25, 20 in Portugal, but that’s not the case"

Does that mean he thinks we are more than 5 players short of a 25 man squad?
Don't you ?? We need another 4 to be on an even keel with last season !

People need to realise that buying a player in real life is not like buying a player on FM2014 - a lot of clubs won't sell until they've bought a replacement, often the agent will hold up the deal whilst he touts his player's name around the world, sometimes the player needs convincing to move (he's not like one of us, this is his job - who of us wouldn't take some time to think about a job in another country on the same money you're on now?), then there are contract and bonus negotiations (with current club and new club) not to mention the personal (family) side of things. Add to that, the club's commitment to FFP meaning that the negotiations take longer when you are (likely to be) poles apart in player valuations and contract offers.

Players and agents will be holding out for the biggest payment possible, but unless it's a top 6 club the big payouts are not going to happen unless you get idiotic clubs that are spending well above their means.

Just pay them what they want man!!

It's easy!!

thought this at the darlo game - a few players we thought were definitely out of the door have seen game time too; alf, cabral & roberge to name a few

Reports suggested yesterday that Sunderland’s pursuit of Marcos Alonso, which would include Modibo Diakite going the other way, had taken a backwards step, but the Uruguayan denied that, adding: “It’s close, but not close enough. Everything is on track. For all the deals to come together everyone needs to be happy and it’s not easy.

:)

Poyet not pleased, understandably

Someone needs to explain this DOF role for me, I thought the idea was that he goes out and looks for the players etc, sets up scouting teams etc, if Poyet is individually picking the players, then why do we need a DOF, surely he is just doing the chief executive's job if he is literally just making the bids and offering the wages.

Not really adding much is he.

Did we need him to help us sign Borini and Alonso? 2 players he had absolutely nothing to do with.

Bit strange IMO.
Reckon we will need him when and if Poyets specific targets become unavailable - as was always a distinct possibility. Otherwise we might as well just set up a standing order to BHAFC.

Alonso vergini and borini and we're set.
bardsley colback and Gardner replaced by Jones and gomez
cuellar, Vaughan and Westwood wont be missed one bit
ustari, dossena not missed
ki never featured in our major run and wasn't missed and won't be
never have a problem getting loans in (ok for Everton ok for us ) so the worriers can save on the nappy expenditure
tidied.

Sorry but that last line is pisspoor, very unprofessional. Naive.immature. Selfish.

This is where wel run into bother with gus, as Brighton did.

Surely he should be portaying a settled setup???

Showed no signs last season that he wouldnt throw his toys out, no reason to change now.

At least one left back
A right back
At least one centre half
Genuine quality in centre mid
A winger/forward to replace Borini
A striker who isn't Altidore/Wickham/ Fletcher

All this craic about waiting for the big clubs to do their business for the window to kick in and then things happen doesnt apply to us, its a time buying exercise/excuse just like the nothing happens during the world cup bollox.
