What is the oldest iPhone anyone has who is seeing this problem? I am just wondering if I can pick up a cheap one that I can test with - currently not having one means I am relying on feedback on this thread everytime I make a change.

Also can those with iPhones confirm what ads they are seeing at the moment (ie since about mid-day today).

You SHOULD have a small one at the top of each thread which SHOULD currently be replaced with this permanently.

And at the bottom there should be a large square with this 90% of the time (the other 10% it should be a video ad which won't play unless you click on it) :

These are actually just blocking ads I have in place which should prevent the normal ads appearing. NB. This only applies to iPhone users, others should see the ads as normal.

If you are seeing something else, the ad-manager clearly isn't doing what it is supposed to.

I see the one at the top aye

I get YouTube videos at the bottom

Still getting that bloody game of war pop up redirect every time I open the site using safari on an iPhone 5. The only way to stop it is to completely turn off JavaScript on safari.
It's getting really annoying!!!

Trying to reply to this thread has redirected me to game of war about 5 times. Like others have said this site is unusable now when I'm on 4g. I'm on Vodafone using an iPhone 5s on safari. This site and to a lesser extent the chronicle website are the only sites it effects me on.
Does anyone know how to stop it?

This is working for me. Iphone 5, iOS 8.1.3, Safari.

The "Youtube" one (not actually youtube but might look like it) is in place to block the normal ads appearing on iPhones while we are having a problem with the normal ones, but it should neither jump to that nor autoplay it.

I'm getting the game of war. If I close that it goes to sky bet.com then I store. It's iPhone 6 I'm using, the update I'm offered software wise is 9.2. I think I'm using 8.4.1 as that's the version in "about" (I haven't switched the phone on in months till today).

Were you getting the Game of War popup on the iPhone4 ? As stated above, I probably need to get hold of an iPhone myself so I can test and cure this problem, but obviously the older one I can buy the cheaper it will be!
Busted!

No wonder the mods don't do anything about sock puppet accounts when the gaffer's doing it too.

It is rather tough to comprehend like. 1 who year of rouge adds. Devices getting effected, reboots needs to stop freezing. I want to contribute but I don't see why I should be forced to do so. In theory, this problem last 1 full year is forcing my hand.

I'm getting the name of war one now, then sky bet, then I store. Only on iPhone 6. It's working fine on iPad 2
