Clubs telling untruths about transfer fees

One of my pet hates is when a club pays an "undisclosed" fee for a player.

Why should it matter?

We either turn up to watch Sunderland play footy or we don't. However you dress it up it comes down to that.

I don't for one second believe MON directly negotiated the price with Swansea's board of directors...

He did as far as Des is concerned, so too did Keane and they both had a free reign to name their price. Bruce however barely got a say on the player.

Apart from appeasing the fans, you would think the selling club would like people to believe they had actually received less for a player that they had sold so as to avoid other clubs trying to sting them for a higher price for any subsequent player they might look to sign.
