Got a tingle down just below the calf muscle when i touch it. Self diagnosed as mild tendonitis, any advice for repair??

why don't you ask Kevin to have a look at it mate ? He's meant to be really good and has sorted a few of your fellow harriers, should be able to diagnose what problem is and what recovery/repair is needed

if its heading to Achilles area I would def see Kevin for proper advice, but if not , then maybe rest it for a week (no running) and ice it every evening ten mins, also try using a foam roller, then if ok in a week just a gradual return to training - however often the problem can be elsewhere , i.e hips or back, and the calf/ achilles can be taking the strain as a result, so ideally you need to speak to a sports physio like Kevin

hope its ok and just a niggle

Enjoy. Marathon a bit extreme for me. My legs have twice totally cramped out on me today. Once when driving back past Craster and I had to emergency stop and let the Mrs drive. Thesecond time about 5 minutes ago. Bloody agony!
I rarely suffer from cramp, unlucky! I'm only messing about marathons, they're tough but anyone can do them if they set there mind to it. Well done on yesterday.

Spoony - 2nd half of the Castles is undulating with a couple of long gradual climbs and some short steeper hills. The way the wind was blowing yesterday meant that in the HM, most of the uphill stretches were into the wind. Maybe my judgment is clouded as I had done 13.1 miles when I reached the HM start point close to Beadnell and had had the wind behind me for majority of the time to that point. I also struggled through the last 5 miles, so maybe didn't notice the downhill parts !
I did the Sunderland HM in May and it is much flatter than the Castles course, obviously the wind could be strong at Sunderland too.

theres a sale night on Thursday at startfitness , 5-7pm, for anyone who loves all the gear (but no idea :lol:)... dunno what gets reduced or by how much mind

10 miles yesterday and a 5k effort, not quick only 20.20 but my legs would just not respond today, not going out on a 2nd run today need a little rest as I am tired as out, going to keep going on these 2 runs a day as my mile are increasing for the week even if my legs are feeling very tired

Under 200 miles left of my 2014 miles in 2014......Frick me does it seem to be going slow now, definitely grinding them out rather than lashing them off, should be done by last week of November then time for a serious rest :cool:

6km in 34:30. Took it easy after Sundays half marathon. Another few miles under the belt 417 miles for the year. Almost 42 miles per month isn't bad for a fat knacker like me. The year had been a massive step up for me.

2011 = 188
2012 =151
2013 = 324
2014 = 417 and counting :-O

10 miles today and fell over on my very last step of the 10 mile, buggered my elbow and cannot change gear whilst driving as I cannot move my elbow properly, off to hospital in the morning if no improvment

I've vowed not to buy anything else until I get my arse into gear and do some proper running.
My mate is doing a 60 mile run at the weekend and he probably has less gear than me.:lol:

Done nowt but a couple of 5ks in the past few weeks since my 50k. Legs are feeling fine but welcoming the rest. Hip is still knackered.

Enjoying training what I want right now at whatever pace I feel. Plus working bonkers hours so no time for much training anyway.

Nice easy 7k up from the Sol to Sea Road then back along Roker coast in 39m. Happy with that as a couple of years ago that was no such thing as a nice easy 7k! 421 miles for the year. I will hit 500 by the end of the year!

Seems manageable that like. Have been thinking of doing the Northumberland Big 10miler on 30th November. Need to keep motivated throughout the winter!
Just join the strollers and run the cross countries man :)

Saltwell 10k the day before the derby is worth entering

I've seen that, would be canny as her dad could watch the bairn whilst I run as they're only over he road.
I'll be doing it, the town moor 10k then the cross countries. Like the sound of that Northumberland big 10 but there's a cross country day before.

Is there any word on a Sunderland half next year ?

Not that I've heard, although I would have thought it would be announced soon. I fancy signing up for the Run Northumberland Half in March as well.

Aye I fancy that one. Been looking at Blackpool half too at end of April . . an adequate replacement for Sunderland if it's not on
