MCB and other Muslim groups organised a vigil for the victims in Trafalgar square tonight. Expecting thousands but they got about five hundred. That's 6,500 less than protested against Salman Rushdie in Bolton.

If there was a hardcore group of 'Sunderland fans' who were violent and chanting how great Sunderland were
as they were kicking someone's head in, then I would like to think that you, along with the other decent supporters, would be straining at the leash to tell
the entire football world, that these thugs were nothing to do with Sunderland, and that you found them as
sickening as everyone else did

To be honest I'd be getting on with my life. Most of us didn't feel the need to pander to media stupidity when there was the fascist furore around PDC.

I asked what are muslims doing to demonstrate this gigantic affront to their religion. You retort with what do I do about domestic abuse. I told you.

If you cannot grasp this simple point, I cannot discuss it with you further. The conversation is here for all to see. Some individual psycho men vs an indoctrinated solid held belief system. it could not be more different.

I understand your point. I am not attacking muslims. I am simply stating if I held such a deep belief, and others affronted it, I would stand for its dissolution. Yes I disagree with domestic violence, its completely different, as any right thinking human would agree, and I even came down to your level and explained how I combat that particular wrong.

You have taken this thread, and my point, and for some, only known to you, reason, made it about something else entirely. I feel sorry that your intelligence can only extend itself to do that. I feel sorry you cannot accept another's point. I feel sorry your first and seemingly only point is to somehow divert and defend scum.

No i would just point it out if i saw it. If i knew someone who knocked his missus about, i would probably have a word, and if i even remotely thought i knew of anyone including family, of been linked to mass killings or child sex cases, i would personally want to knock fuck out of them and i would certainly not turn a blind eye to it and sympathise in any way. Am i offended that people want to stop racism in grounds? No. Am i offended that people don't like women beaters? No. Would i be offended if someone wanted me to help stop people who kill innocent people and chop their heads off etc? Er, no why the fuck should i be?

I'd like to think that in general my activity is a mixture of serious and joking as the occasion demands. There are times when I get into arguments with people on here and I'd also like to think when that happens that I give as good as I get and no more.

On this thread I preferred not to get into those kinds of arguments but I've been repeatedly accused of excusing and supporting terrorism which is a pretty shitty way to carry on given what's been happening in Paris.

That rant is extraordinary. I say it again for you as you've got the wrong end of the stick. I'm not making a point about domestic violence. It's an analogy. It isn't legitimate to ask all men what they are doing about it. I thought it might help you to work out why putting a blanket responsibility on all Muslims is idiotic. Cowboys and Indians was a reference to the impression you're giving that there is a single entity of Islam. It's the same kind of thinking as "if you've nothing to hide you've nothing to fear" or "if you're not with us you're against us". It's not up to Islam to stop extremists any more than its up to Christians to somehow stop child abuse by priests. Extremists and abusers have ways of justifying to themselves that what they are doing isn't wrong. Of course rational people will condemn their acts but to expect all people to broadcast that condemnation is nonsense.
