Remember watching the 66 semi final against Portugal (and Eusabio) at my auntie's house cos she was the only one with a color tele. night game and a great pair of Bobby Charlton goals to see us through 2-1

err no colour TV in the UK in 1966?

first sports in colour was Wimbledon '67 I think?

Me mam was mad for tennis and got one of the first colur TVs specially for it.

82 was the best world cup man! Everyone knows that: Zico,Socrates and Falcao in the Best Brazil team ever. Maradona, Platini, Boniek and Paulo Rossi. Keegan's perm the Tartan Army and the best goal celebration ever.

Maybe my minds gone...sure it was color
Maybe because of the film that was released in colour? I was in a car park off a beach in Cornwall. Every man and boy were there, every car radio blaring and the boys playing footy in the middle. I've still never seen the whole match all the way through.

Watched Brazil game in the Rink in park lane, they had a colour telly upstairs.
Wearing me blazer, sherman, sta prest and loafers.
That's mint mate.
I remember getting ready in the house mohair suit on and all that, Ben Sherman shirt, kipper tie! Meeting a lovely lass in the Rink. Left the house we were 2-0 up and cruising, life was sweet!
Got down to the Rink that room with the colour telly was at the top of the stairs on the right going in, we were getting beat 3-2!!
Devastated!!

 clown.

Spain 82 had it all including shocks, the worst tackle in world cup history and the best entertaining side not to win it because the keeper was shite .Brasil

My Da went to the Mexico 1970 world cup as part of the official England supporters group. It was a package tour and they were booked into the same hotels as the squad. In between games they spent a lot of time with the players, on the drink, playing cards, messing about around the pool etc. Hard to imagine in this day and age. The Mexicans kept them up all night before the West Germany QF, banging drums, playing big guitars and that coz Alf Ramsey had pissed them off about something or other.

Remember watching it on black n white tele..the commentator sounded like he was on the moon...still the best WC ever
