Did 9 miles last night in preparation for the half marathon next week. It felt ok, so I'm feeling a lot more confident now. I'll be aching all day down at Stoke though. :)

Went out for the first time in two weeks today. Only did 3 miles and felt a bit sick at the end but not too bad. Hopefully start getting back into training after next weekend and aiming for the Gateshead 10k in July.
My numbers still going spare for the Sunderland 10k next week. Free to a good home.

Wouldn't mind taking you up on that offer mate...

Mate I did 39.01 (3859 by me ) couple week back at Blyth 10k and class you as better runner from what you done in training so I'm with dan - sub 40 , although couple of banks thrown in, you can do it.

Good luck to any posters doing London on Sunday . For those that aren't there's the terry Ogara 5k race at wallsend , I've been told it's maybe the quickest 5k in North East and most get a PB so for anyone after a good confidence booster , worth a try? Unfortunately due to a niggle I've been advised not t do it and have couple days off

thanks @Fletch I don't lf know if its a confidence thing I just don't feel like I can go sub 40 as ive never done it before, I think a lot depends on my 1st mile as it is usually slow 7.30 and I know I need to get that to 6.30 so I can then just improve every mile for the next 5 and then I know I wont be far off, had a confidence boost last week when I did 5 miles in training at 6.26 I believe that will hit me at bang on 40mins. I have not raced for 2 year aswell apart from a few park runs and ive never really put a lot into them just used them as a quick training session, so any decent time will do me and I may get the racing bug again to try the sub 40

Are there plenty of toilets on route? That's my main concern

Due to the heat last year I drank more water before the start, had to squat in the bushes at the side of the start area for a wee.

Never had to stop en route thankfully but there are toilets at a few points.

Did the park run again this morning, only managed it in about 43 mins :(. Really anxious that I'll not be up for doing the Sunderland 10k next week, physically or mentally.

don't worry about your time next week just aim to put 1 foot in front of the other and enjoy it, are u anxious because others will run faster than you our is it a worry of not getting around?

Bit of both to be honest & scared of being all alone at the back as well.

You'll be fine. You're looking at finishing somewhere around 1:30 ish so I'd be amazed if there weren't plenty of people behind you. There are usually loads walking within the 1st few km.

 I thought that was mandatory.

just looking at last years results you will be fine, you may be near the back but not last and the people you will be running around will be feeling exactly the same as you so just relax and enjoy, remember all them people that are watching and clapping at you cannot judge you for running at what ever pace you do, only you can judge yourself and if you get around is all you want to do you should be very proud of yourself when you cross the line at the end
