Didn't so.:)

Whatever mate.........I went to the match with mates from Hebburn and Jarrow and they were both sheepish whenever we sang it so I know what happened even though you would rewrite history.

It doesn't really matter as we are a proud Mackem club NOW who eschew the term 'Geordie'........that's all that matters in the end :)

Nobody sang we hate geordies around us. On the flip side nobody, including us, sang we hate mackems either.

You weren't in the fulwell then........you're probably rewriting history in your own mind.

Do we sing it now mate? Or do we all proclaim our love for geordies at the SSOL?

No.I was there. Numerous Geordie chants as there were and are thousands of us there.

Yes plenty of anti-Geordie ones.

Its to be expected, we are a mackem club whatever anyone claims that we once were. Geordies need to man up and stop crying about being disenfranchised.

I spent my younger days in the Fulwell. I always went in the Roker when there was genuine trouble expected though. Spurs, Chelsea, Millwall, Newcastle etc etc.

I've no idea what the south stand choir boys squeek. It's an unnatural forced gathering, a bit like X-Factor boy bands. They sing what they believe is trendy to sing, Louie Walsh should mentor them.

John Hall, X-Factor, Louie Walsh had no influence whatsoever on the lads i went to matches with.

How is your Geordie chanting going down at the SSOL these days marra?

No we are not. Based partly in Sunderland with support from all over the North East, Durham etc. Man up? Take people from outside Sunderland away and you will be pretty lonely in our stadium

That's a myth mate. Stupidity to suggest we are not a mackem club

Try chanting about geordies in the SSOL and see how that goes

No better than the mackem chanting. After 140 years is there a mackem chant yet? You should get Louie Walsh to knock one up for you. If you get a move on there's still a chance for Christmas Number One.

You sound bitter against Geordies Boris. What's wrong, did Cheryl Cole vote you off at the audition stage??:):):):):)

Not bitter mate.....just stating the facts. We are a mackem club that rejects any suggestion that we are Geordie. I don't make the rules marra......no need to be angry.

There's no facts and there's no rules, only the one's in your head.
There's nothing official to the club that ties it to the word mackem, they wouldn't be so stupid. Not on the strip, not on the badge not at the entrance and not in the ground.
The blackcats is our nickname. As a geordie i'm happy to go along with the club's initial decision on this one.

Most people who i go with think we're a geordie club, but just like you we can't prove it, only that all our fans used to sing Geordie songs for decades. That was before mackems were invented though.

OK mate.......but you know that the only Geordie songs allowed in the SSOL are anti Geordie songs

Who the f**k would stop them, the X-Factor Boy Band?
Most of the ground sits in silence and every now and then some spotty oiks pipe up about Pardew or Steven Taylor.

That was during @PISTON 's 'deluded' period........it's lasted over 40 years so far

My dad reckons nee one he ever went to the game with ever sang about being geordies. Not saying it didnt happen mind, but him and his mates said theyd never ever sing about being geordies unless it was to have a dig.

And regardless of the past, these days its as simple as geordies are mags, mackems are sunderland.

Hence if Bruce had been from Sunderland the term Mackem wouldnt have been used as derogatory term when chanting for his head. Geordie was included cos it was to hammer home he was a fat MAG twat.

Only by people who've got no idea about the history of this club.
It's very easy to spot the diehards from the X-Factor Boys.
