Why are we playing a reserve team tonight?

Learned nothing from last pre-season, never have enough challenging first team games, last season we hadn't played a game in the fortnight before the Fulham opener look what happened ! Same again this season 3 games against shite local opposition then 3 games in 5 days against Portuguese no-hopers, what a build up to the season ! As for the current first team squad, 2 OAP's at centre half both out of contract at the end of the season, so already guaranteed next pre-season same as this, need many defenders in, bloody pathetic IMO. Still we'll probably have some great boy bands at the SOL next summer and that's just as important to Ellis and Maggie as this football thing that 40,000 plus come to see every other week apparently. Keep the Bastard Faith !!

But this didn't seem like the original plan, they only just flew out today and now suddenly the kids are playing?

Is Gus trying to prove a point to Lee C and the owner? Because he didn't hint at this at all previously

Our entire first team squad subject of a bid from Southampton
 
Would have thought all transfer targets were Poyets choice.....as he did want more say in the matter....maybe if it had been left to Congerton we would have had more players in....the signings havent come off so far.
Its probably a reward for the young team as said in the media...
