Words fail me. Every time we take a step up in ambition something happens that puts any attempt to sign a decent name in doubt which then forces us to take a step back and right back to square one. It is almost as if someone somewhere does not want us to take the next level up in signing quality.

Given the importance of bolstering the team I wouldn't be surprised if he is the first name on the sheet.

You the least bit surprised? How many years have we been left disappointed by a top name not coming and have resorted back to signing lower league players?
 
If i was an international footballer I wouldnt sign for Sunderland.
 
easier than ever for agents to get a ball rolling just by tweeting something…then watching if it smokes out bigger teams and better offers. sad but that is the world we live in. Don't believe a thing until they pull on the shirt.

Cant wait until window closes and everyone throwing this back in your face after a raft of signings. Congerton will do the business but he is fighting against SAFC's lack of stature in Europe {only 1 season in Europe going back to 1973}.
