EU Elections

I haven't read the thread, so maybe it's been asked and/or answered already, but what use is it voting a party into European Parliament who don't want to be part of Europe?
Imagine if aother party took the money from winning an election but didn't turn up to work? Ukip voters seriously dont get this irony

A wake up call that the people of this country want a referendum about our role in Europe, maybe?
But they're going to be in European Parliament for 5 years from now...just like Nick Griffin was....so what are they going to do? It's pointless IMO.

A wake up call is in the Local Elections, not the European Elections...

don't forget the lib dems didn't win a majority and therefore were unable to put through their manifesto. They went in coalition with the tories and probably had to negotiate. We got the no tax having to be paid until you earn £10K, so it wasn't all bad.
But they didn't have to get into bed with the Tories. Set the lib dem cause back years by selling their soul for five minutes of power.

It's the sneaky privatisation of the NHS that gets me. It was in no-one's manifesto.
I hear this a lot but don't see it other than in social care when it comes to residential homes and the like. People have also said UKIP want to privatise too but unsurprisingly I've never seen anything that would hint at that on their god awful issues page.

Would you rather they'd gone into coalition with labour?

UKIP voters don't give a shit about the irony. They want out of the EU and UKIP MEPs can go on a four year bender as far as they're concerned so long as Britain eventually comes out of the EU.

It is a sad state of affairs when a borderline racist party are seen as the best alternative to a change in politics. As I stated to a poster earlier on today, UKIP are not the answer to the needs of this country but political reform to ensure fair representation in politics by people elected from all backgrounds.

OK so what is the answer. More political reform, from whom? Haven't we given the current major parties enough time or do we just keep giving them more time? For ever and ever and ever.
In addition to which regardless of representation they don't follow through with their pledges or listen to public opinion. It's clear to see what the UK want a vote on Europe and Labour for example have already stated on one occassion that they won't let us have it.

No we just don't care.

And they do turn up for work occasionally, mainly to call the whole thing a load of bollocks, which is fine by me. It's what I voted for.

the privatisation that continued throughout labours 13 years in power yet only became an issue as soon as the tories came into power
