Even if you're right, its a hugely significant event. Even on your analysis, the politicians are going to have to take their lead from the people rather than the other way around. Doesnt happen often.
I'd go some way to agreeing with your second sentence. The third sentence happens all the time, that's democracy.

Can't see a problem really.
They may employ a few more counters than others but the difference will not be that much.
So they spend an extra bob on it - good luck to them really.

So you are happy with a council who's only claim to fame is announcing results first? Aside from the fact that its one of the lowest turn out areas so it should be one of the first in any case

Not really. It's a protest vote. The main parties now need to understand why people are protesting so loudly and what they are angry about.
the main parties and their fans have spent all their time finger pointing and name calling at ukip

I doubt that will change

Define us?

Not necessarily cynicism but an 'outside the box' view point if you will
Not one of the sheep anyway.

Surely anyone who cares about Sunderland will be willing to ask questions of our leaders rather than blow smoke up their arses?

What the fuck are you talking about?

Mag!

All those who voted Ukip must love their policies on health, education and among other things, maternity pay.
Lets agree with your point and say that it shows what disarray the other parties are in and how loathed they are when a party with just a couple of known policies can do so well. Clearly people are f***ing fed up.
