him and onions and arshad in my fantasy team hope they steamroll themHarrison averaging 112 for the season not bad for a number 9
Fairly even day. Durham maybe just shaded it. It was always a big ask to get 350 and I'm quite happy with what we got. Always very difficult to bat in the morning sessions at Durham so I wouldnt be surprised if Somerset lost a few wickets before lunch. Two play and misses and a big lbw shout in the first over. 1-0.
Trescothick already played and missed at four. He's living a charmed life...... Probably make a f***ing ton.
Trescothick dropped by Breese.
7-0 at Close.
Pretty even day really. Frustrating for us that we couldn't make 350+. Just seemed to keep losing wickets at the worst times. The collapse from 219-3 to 238-7 was the most dissappointing and while you can't be too harsh on tail-enders, it would've been a big boost if 10 and 11 could have made a few runs apiece to give Harrison a chance at completing his half century.
Hard to say what we can expect tomorrow, would've been huge if Breese could've held the catch and had them 6-1 overnight. As it is, I'll settle for any kind of first innings lead. Going off what the commentators have said the pitch is pretty good and Durham will be disappointed not to have made 350.
Somerset's strength is certainly in their batting so it'll be a difficult task to gain a lead I think.
Jennings out. Jobs fucked.
fuck me brandy, you sound ready to jump off a cliff here
We don't know if 308 is a good score or not yet, we'll only know once they've finished their 1st innings, but isn't that always the case at the Riverside?
In fairness you could say that's the case anywhere. The general feeling last season was that 200 was competitive! Although listening to the commentary I did get the feeling that batting wasn't too difficult.
That's because a lot of their bowling was poor, they only caused problems when they managed to put it in the right areas. Even after 6 overs from our lads it looks a different pitch.
Fair one Harry, if you've been then you've got an advantage over me. Did the fact they were batting for Close make a difference though?
No, both batsmen played and missed, Rushy only bowled at Trescothick and beat him several times and had him dropped, Bunny beat both batsmen when they faced him with Jones not being able to put the bat on the ball at all.
