Because the discounts are mostly for trivial shit that it would be stupid to means test for.

The smokers. on here, have proved themselves to be incredibly smarmy ........... and you seem to be their self-elected leader, for obvious reasons :-D

It's funny how the smokers automatically exclude themselves from being fat, Greggs munching, ginger, beer guzzlers ........ the highest percentage of smokers is in the lowest socio-economic group which means smokers are thick as well as smelly.

I thought about that only the other day. In one of my daily papers on the On This Day in History page they mentioned it was 185 years to the day when John Walker of Stockton sold his first proper set of matches. Between 1827 and 1829 he made 168 sales. Stuffed my dear pipe nicely and had a good smoke to his memory. Was wondering at the time how many in the pipe club were doing the same.
 
This is a genuine question for smokers - what exactly is the attraction of smoking?

I have never had a satisfactory answer from a smoker to this. It genuinely puzzles me.

Smoking doesn't seem to have any attractions, and the downsides are obvious even to the most stupid youngster.

So what is it that makes anybody want to do it?

I enjoy the addiction. It's the only answer I can give even though I know it's gonna kill me eventually.

I wouldn't necessarily be against a ban either though. It's a particularly stupid habit.
 
I knew this would happen, as soon as anyone mentions smoking it starts a war............:lol::lol:

(a) It helps me keep my weight down, so when I'm working I look forward to a cigarette in my break, rather than a chocolate bar, as I will invariably want something and I'd rather not end up fat.

(b) I naturally suffer from myopia, and can't honestly visualise it killing me no matter how many stats you throw at me.

(c) It pisses off my mam.

(d) I find it a sociable thing to do. Lotsa hot birds I know smoke.

Is Smokeing worse than Homosexuality ,because i would rather my kids were around smokers than Gay boys ,

In percentage terms there are more gays who smoke than any other social group.
