Thinking about it again. I guess you max out your PL squad then omit two or three from the UEFA squad to make the numbers add up

Yes I do thanks. And even there we have plenty ahead of him - Chris Rigg, Anthony Patterson, Matty Young, Ogunsuyi, Ba, I think Mayenda might count. Then there'll be a bunch of other kids who may have a chance here.

And extending an option for him on that basis so that he can make the numbers up would make it even shittier. He wouldnt get any playing time, with the possible exception of a meaningless end of group game which would be a lot less beneficial for him than a year playing league football.

Young will be out on loan . Could see patto staying and playing the European games if we qualify and let ellborg out on loan to get more experience.
Fairly sure ba and mayenda dont count and ba will never play for us again regardless .
Ogunsuyi hasnt kicked on yet but has plenty of time .

Basically we will need to sign some English talent this summer . Shame cirkin looks to be off as he would get a lot more football if we get Europe .

We'd have been far better off going back to Dan Neil and getting him to sign in that case. Much more likely to be able to survive at that level than Johnson.

Mayenda and Ba won’t count for the 4 player rule he is on about. Of the 4 you said who did I would reckon Patterson will be sold and Young loaned out. Who can fill the other 2 proper starts to narrow

I’m hoping this is why we are looking to extend, have him sign the extension but an agreement already in place to let him sign for York with either a buyback clause or 30% sell on. Don’t think we’d be able to just let his contract expire then have a clause in his next contract.
