Your striker issue

Our average home attendance for this season is 27,328. That's more than respectable for a club operating in the Championship, so not sure where the "Boro excuses for low attendances" comment has come from.

Millwall's average is 16,914. Not knocking that of course, but not sure why you believe their support "pulled our pants down".
about 7000 empty seats at yours v 3000 at theirs.

Well yeah, you have a bigger fanbase than us. It's hardly surprising when you compare the population size difference between Sunderland and Middlesbrough.

Higher numbers doesn't equate to better support though.

I think TS is correct.

The mags get bigger crowds than us because they have a far larger population base:

All of Northumberland, Newcastle, North Tyneside and Gateshead, plus

Most of County Durham and
at least half of South Tyneside

The mags also get a fair chunk of Darlington

Sunderland gets Sunderland and about a third of County Durham, plus a fair whack of Hartlepool

Boro get whatever is left whilst fighting Leeds for North Yorkshire

The irony of this post is off the scale.

I don't see why is should explain this to you, but I will.
There is always a sizeable area between home and away fans that contains seats which are UNAVAILABLE to be sold.
So, even though the attendance wasn't the same figure as the 'capacity', every AVAILABLE seat was sold (home and away fans), hence the term 'sold out'.

Thing is, you jump in calling me a liar and insinuating that I'm thick (with 2 'heeds'🤷 apparently), when all you manage to do is prove the latter about yourself.
Well done.

You dont do yourself any favours on here

You asked what the obsession is about attendances then talk about attendances 🤣

Then you told a blatent lie about a poor attendance for a safc v boro match at roker park. Only one i can think your referring to is when emerson scored that worldy and it wasnt a poor attendance

Only spoke about attendances because of the obsession (and untruths) about ours.
It was stated (on this thread I believe ) that we had a 'half empty stadium' against Millwall, when in fact it was sold out.

And what I actually said was that your supporters were singing about us 'not selling all our tickets', and the ones singing it were in a half empty stand - to the right when you look from the away end.
It's not a lie (blatant or otherwise), our lot found it quite funny and ironic - it wasn't a lie at all.

It was before the Emerson 'era'.
1994 - you won 2-1 and Steve Vickers scored our goal - it was about a year before the one we won 0-1 with Jamie Pollock getting the winner to put us top of the league.

General question - who is your derby game? Which game do you look out for first?

In my younger days I suppose I would look out for matches against yourselves, Newcastle and Leeds.
Nowadays - don't particularly look out for any (just as well seeing as we're not in the same division as any of those three😁.)

When I started going to Boro regularly, you and us were in the same division a lot (early 70's), so I suppose once we got promoted under Big Jack it was more Newcastle and Leeds I looked out for (more for the 'novelty' of playing against them I suppose, and the Charlton 'Leeds connection').

Too old to be bothered by any of that now - living in County Durham I'm fully aware of the 'rivalry' between you and Newcastle.

The mags have most of County Durham? No chance.

They have a lot of plastics knocking about who watch in pubs but never go to the match. Especially in the NW of the County as its closer to Newcastle than Sunderland,

Even so Sunderland have always had a healthy following from Consett and Stanley.

Loads of mixed areas to the South West of Durham but actual match attending supporters is in favour of Sunderland.

East Durham predominantly Sunderland so I cannot see where the mags have the majority.

16700 from a 22k max capacity. So you have embellished.

Cant crow about being the victim when you do the same

We are going to be making Josh Coburn available for a loan for the season. Something I think we shouldn’t do.

That being said he would easily be your best striker and would dwarf Mendy and ugbo in terms of quality.

Go get him Macks.
I know this is a massive bump but perhaps Boro should approach Millwall to see about a loan deal for Coburn.

They don't even get all of Northumberland and Gateshead. Join the metro at Central station and you'll struggle to get a seat, even less chance if you get on at Gateshead. Where do you travel from?

No embellishment there whatsoever .
Pointing out the irony of people singing about opposition supporters not selling out when we're they were singing it from was also not sold out.

Also, no 'victim crowing' from me - as I said, I was responding to people posting stuff as 'facts' when it clearly wasn't true.

Putting people right (or calling out their lies) is nowhere near the same.

You embellished. Judging how your fans move forward in the roker end on vickera scoring suggests it was boro letting down the attendance 🤣

Roker park looks nice and full there
