Saw the Philharmonic Orchestra play Hector Berlioz' Symphonie Fantastique when I was studying music at school.

Beautiful piece.

I also like most of what Chopin wrote.

Died fighting in the Somme with the DLI. A close friend of Ralph Vaughan Williams. This country lost so much in that war

Too many to name, but a few stand-outs for me:
Simplicity and beauty, in an austere kind of way.

A bit of 'goes to 11' with more than a hint of the operatic.

And if I could play one thing perfectly, I'd choose this.
