You Tubers

i follow some accounts posting hundreds of videos a year and the most each video gets is about 32 views. Just rambling shite nee one watches.
I also worked with one of these youtubers. Younger kid. Never spoke to anyone. Was a mute. Nee craic. Nee personaility. That was her.

However her youtube videos  . Zany bouncey hyper shite and drivel.
Hoy up a link then
I watch loads of stuff of on YouTube but can’t bring myself to subscribe to any channel, partly because I can’t be dealing with all the notifications and maybe and just odd 😂
You can subscribe and not turn on notifications
Only the top 1% make any real cash. And it takes alot of time to actually he any good.

Also gone are the days of luck getting you noticed alot of these are now very talented and have a team behind them.

What culture from Gateshead is now owned by future publishing etc.
A few years back 5 of what culture's top on screen people went off and started cultaholic as they were unhappy with whatculture

There is a very good living to be made if you can get to 100k subscribers and can average 3-4 videos a week that get between 70-100k views each.

The problem that most have is that they either keep doing the same thing or they try and branch out and lose their core audience. Only takes a few mistakes in terms of poor performing uploads and the channel can suffer.

You see a lot of channels these days that have hundreds of thousands of subscribers but only get 20-50k views per video. These channels are essentially dying.

If I had a bairn who was interested in this area as a career I’d be pushing/leaning them down the route of producing online content or video editing as this is also now a massive industry because of YouTube and has much more of a potentially stable career path.

How many subscribers has your buddy Alex Jones got? 👌

It's easy to spot the latest popular thing one person does and then they all start doing it.

Casey Neistat used to whizz about New York on his electric skateboard, then there was people doing it in Yorkshire and talking to the camera 😄 .
Another one is making coffee. I was looking on youtube for a car review but the first minute was the lad making coffee with over the top sound effects and had absoultely nothing to do with the video!

If you get into a decent youtuber early before they get really popular it can be great but once they start doing a minute or more of their sponsors product it gets a bit wearing.

However, some of their sponsors are quite useful, like CarVertical.

This post was not sponsored by Car Vertical although I am open to offers.

Use a sponsor block extension if watching via a browser.

Couldn't do without them. Some great old plumbers, roofers, joiners, brickies, car mechanics, sparkies. If they make a living out of it then good for them.
Some good physio therapy sites anarl. Haven't much time for the big eaters though, like the chefs and other food sites though.

I think it's a great idea having amateur or semi-professional TV tailored to your interests. The problem I have with it is the amount of time kids spend on it and conspiracy nuts using it to spread dangerous misinformation.

What are people's thoughts on this?

More and more people doing this for a living, I think its quite sad myself, please hit the like and describe button, buy me a coffee if you like, almost like legalised begging.

One good thing I suppose is this pursuit has given people who in a lot of instances, previously had issues, socially inadequate, oddballs, weirdo's something to get their teeth into, giving their lives some meaning, rather than spending day after day watching porn or playing games on the play station, or been sent to the stockroom at work to count staples and drawing pins.

I watch a lot of You Tube, and there are some talented people showing me some interesting things, about the things I have an interest in such as pubs, politics, football grounds, hiking, allotments etc. People like Tweedys pubs, By the Curb, Wandering Turnip, Martin Zero, Trekking Exploration. There are others though who are higher grade knobheads, such as Charles Veitch and other right wing orientated people who just seem to thrive on confrontation and agitation, click bait to get views.

I am a live and let live person, but I worry about a world, where in future the lack of jobs, will see many more people resorting to this for a living. Luckily I probably won't be around to witness going down the pub and having a Go Pro thrust in my face or some little scroats harassing me with a drone when I'm out walking, but this folks could be the future.

Think you answered your own question there .
Like all walks of life, some are decent, some are weird.
(Look at this forum 👍🏼🤣)

The "like, subscribe and hit that bell" shìt gets on me tits mind.

I don't do facefook, twátter or other social media crap but enjoy watching some YouTube vids. Apparently rumble isn't censored like YouTube. 🤷

Tiktok is absolute chod.

What I can't get my head round is people filming concerts or football matches FFS.
Shouldn't they be there to enjoy the experience, not ruining it ?

The fish locker has been talked about quite a bit on here over the years. A NE native living down west catching some great fish and showing some cracking experience he’s having. I’m guessing he’s making a few quid now and good on him. He’s putting himself out, he’s likability works and he is living the dream of many anglers

He’s a good lad and a good angler. I like him.

I preferred life without endless content, when things were somewhat mysterious, we have too much too easily now it's just joyless consumption
I get that, its great to see places that you may never get to see, or pubs that you may never get to drink in, but the downside to that is, if you ever do get the chance, the surprise element is taken away, as in some way, feel as though you already know the place and what to expect.

You tube is brilliant for advice on everything from changing a spare wheel to tying a pennel rig.

It’s essential for musicians and You tubers like Mick and Dan from That Pedal Show are a great authority on things like amps, guitars, pedals and more. Plus they have great guests that give fantastic insight into their music.

I look at YouTube every single day.

Only got into it over the past couple of years. I subscribe to maybe 10 channels or so. Have a look a couple of times a week.

Some book review youtube channels I really enjoy.

Although I’ve never done it, I’d much rather throw them some money than pay a licence fee to watch Gary linekar or some of the twats on tv.
There are some brilliant content creators out there and you either follow them or you don’t.
Some of the car stuff is much better than TV and it’s a great living for some who follow their passion and make a bit of money.
Some are pathetic however you have a real choice as a viewer.
