Yorkshire v Durham T20

Strange feeling playing you lads these days. Want to beat you as easily as possible during the game but when we do I just feel anger towards FTECB. We've had some great battles across all formats over the years and I miss that. My first Yorkshire game was a 50 over game against Durham in 2007. You beat us easily and for most of my time supporting Yorkshire, up to the last couple of years, it seemed like you nearly always did.

whats your opinion on stokes innings rather bizzare

Combination of things probably.

Return from a lengthy lay off, so probably took him a while to get his eye in against a proper bowling attack rather than a club cricket side like on Tuesday at CLS.

Early wickets falling around him, he probably saw himself as the anchor and to be fair, he did that quite well. Had others around him chipped in with a sharp 20/25 his innings would have looked a lot better.

He (and the ECB) were probably keen to get some decent batting time in, even if it didn’t look too clever as tonight looks.

I don’t see why we want to rush him back for England in the T20s. We’ve 2 left against India, then an ODI series where Stokes might even struggle to find his place. Let him play for Durham, get fully fit with both batting and bowling and get him in for the test series, even if that means 3/4 T20s and then playing some red ball 2nd team games. No need at all to rush him back at 80% fitness into the England side, especially with the ODI side

agreed I wouldn't even have him in the England team at the moment

He’ll be back in the ODI team, you can’t leave him out. But the way they’re playing, we’d be better off surely to allow him to ‘ease back to fitness’ rather than throwing him in against India.

He doesn't get in the ODI side at the minute for me because he isn't 100% fit and firing

Only then does he get back in.

So, aye, I agree.

I think we can he doesn't win games enough for England in odi cricket who does he replace

It’s going to be very harsh on someone, probably a bowler - Willey is the most likely. Which is very harsh, and also takes away a bit of variation from the bowling attack.

It’s a nice dilemma to have

He's not good enough to be the third seamer and plunkett would have to open the bowling and they like him getting wickets in the middle overs. Woakes for Willey he either comes in for Ali or they drop a batsman which they wont

Big dilemma like isn’t it?

I like our bowling attack as it is now.
Wood offers you out and out pace
Plunkett is quick and gives that extra bounce
Willey is the left arm option and is good up front as long as it swings
Rashid is a very handy bowler, and Ali is also good to have.
Root also gives that spin option.

Ali is the one probably most at risk out of those mentioned, as if it is spinning then Root can bowl a few.

The batsman at the moment can not be dropped.

And as you rightly say, Woakes is also knocking on the door

Can't see them dropping Ali unless its for another spinner, I think one of the top 3 will drop out. And it will be really tough on whichever one it is.

Honestly could not pick one to drop out. As you say, really tough on whichever one it is.

Really tough on whoever it is who drops out

Kyle Coetzer has signed for Northants.....makes you wonder how hard Durham tried (if you believe Lewis) to sign for T20 blast. Surely a better option than the crap down there currently

I suppose the choice will be made easier if India really get after Ali or Rashid, which I can see happening

Are Latham and Tahir both overseas players? Is that our max barring Kolpaks and dodgy passports?
