Yorkshire v Durham : CC September 24

I wonder what the fine would have been if we just made no attempt to take the final wicket this morning?

My only visit to Headingley was when Benks and Gibson batted and batted to keep us up. Thank god I wasn't there today.

In 2006, at Headingley during the final game of the season Dale Benkenstein and Otis Gibson put on 315 runs for the 7th wicket to help us avoid a follow-on which would essentially keep us up by half a point.

It was a sliding doors moment, 3 years later we were County Champions.

We had another opportunity at a sliding doors moment today. I’m not suggesting we’d have been champions any time soon this time around, but today we could’ve effectively saved our season, salvaged something from the wreckage and regrouped over the winter.

The club is unrecognisable from the one I grew up playing for in the age groups and the state of affairs now is worrying. Major clear out needed and the club needs to restore its values that served it so well from 92 to 16.

Absolutely gutless, most spineless batting performance ive seen in many a year, not just from Durham but from the sport in general. Had absolutely everything gifted to them despite not winning since May. Points deductions, Hampshire collapsing from a position of victory. All we had to do was bat 2 sessions essentially. In any other sport heads will roll here, yet unfortunately both North and Bostock are absolutely teflon here. Bostock probably hasnt even realised that we are still playing 4 day cricket once the Hundred has finished. Make them walk home up the A1
Totally spot on, gifts from everywhere else, but did sod all to actually save it themselves.

Got to question the coaches and captains approach to this innings?? To go out and bat super negatively is a bizarre way to go on....it effects the team mentally and just encourages this kind of collapse
