42 years for me, and just to add, I never thought I would ever see Europe. I thought the Reid years were great, this is something different

Tbh i never thought the Reid years would be topped but this is close very close if not better, i actually started going with me dad in `69-70 season - we got relegated (sign of things to come! :) ) went to all the `73 cup home games but not the final me dad went like, so aye i saw us in the cup winners cup home to Vasas Budapest & Sporting Lisbon, other than that a few promotions & relegations - still go to the games despite the shite its what we all about, me Dad wouldve loved this season

Like a few others if seems, am a 92-er really

Had been with my dad in the 80s but he wasn't really arsed about football by the 90s. Might have been his (bad) golf era.

So from 1992 regular. Then it went uphill rapidly, aways and season tickets. Some of the happiest times of my life on that Fulwell terrace. No one who witnessed the Armstrong header could not be hooked mind

Now maybe the genetics have kicked in and I don't attend often. Am also shit at golf. Thanks dad
 
August 1963 for me, home to newly promoted Northampton lost 2-0.

63yrs on Ive seen the highs and lows. Been to Cup Final in 73 (was at all matches except Reading away). Liverpool in 92.

Those were high points for me, eclipsed by Peter Reid Seasons which were amazing.

But the promise of our current owner, his selection of current manager, his investment, our current team, European competition,and our future prospects. This could be beyond my dreams.

At 76 I hope to see it.
 
First match was August 69 so nearly 57 years although it spans 7 decades. Played Sheff Wed and we both ended up being relegated. A sign of things to come lol. My lads were born in 92 and 94 and have followed Sunderland via a season ticket at SOL since it was built even though we lived in London all of that time. We were all at the Charlton PO final but after that they only knew relative success until the last 10 years when they've realised what its really like to be a fan. I used to dream of taking them to a Wembley Cup which we did v Man City and then maybe a win a Wembley, which we got v Wycombe, then I dreamt of getting our pride back by somehow getting into the PL, but I never dreamt about Europe. Never in a million years. It's remarkable really that in a few months, God and the Ticket Office willing, we will be there at our first away fixture in Europe in over 50 years. I think its the fact that the lows were so low (Cheltenham being the lowest for me) that makes this current run so enjoyable.

Regularly from 1966 when I was 10 and we had moved to roker from Fulwell
Previously earliest would have been 1961 when we would regularly go in the Fulwell end once they opened the gates near the end of the game. Different world those days 4 or 5 year olds roaming the streets with older kids (7or 8)
Rarely missed a full home game since 1968 season ticket holder since 1995 but still enjoying it all obviously
