Years following the lads

Well played bud, I doff my cap to anyone who supports a team further down the leagues as such and apologies as that's not a dig

Not at all mate.
Honestly I am green with envy. It’s different for sure.

You do have some laughs as a bottom feeder.
The toughest part of all this is the potential. If it got going it would take off and would be special. That cuts me up the worse as I want my kids to witness what it’s really like.
Clearly not at your level but the support would come back. So many of my lot have stopped going but would come back.

As for you Mate, pinch yourself and enjoy every moment.
What an incredible recent journey.⚽👍

Thank you pal, are you kids fully involved in following Swindon or not

First match April 1974, so 52 years for me.
Loved the lads before then but it took me a few years to persuade my brothers to let me go to the match with them, being a girl and all that 😁
My sister was a regular at the match before I was. She was a couple years older and had stopped going regularly before I started. She supported the lads all her life but from Leeds way so only a couple of games a season.

Born 82 first started attending games late 80’s. 92 fa cup run was my first proper memories and emotions of following the lads. Some absolute mental ups and downs since then.

I’m 42. Think my uncle took me to my first game at Roker when I was about 7 ish. Got beat by Leicester 1-0 from memory, but never been certain. It was a nighttime match. If anyone could tell me what they approximate the year/season I’d appreciate it, as I’ve never been able to determine if and would love to read an old match report or something. Think the atmosphere and singing is what hooked me, as I can’t remember the football being great 🤣

Whats your high point following Swindon
And then your low point

Successive Promotions from Division 4 to Division 2 1986 to 1988 under Lou Macari was magnificent.

Two seasons later you may be aware in 1990 we beat Sunderland 1-0 at Wembley to win the Division Two play off. The following week we were demoted 2 divisions due to financial irregularities, appealed and stayed in Division two.
Never experienced hurt like that.

One season in the Premiership 1992. Winning the play off at Wembley 4-3 v Leicester.
We knew we would come straight back down.

My favourite game in 1979 an away game at International star studded Arsenal.
Quarter Final League Cup. Over 7,000 travelled and we equalised in the 85th minute.
Beat them 4-3 at Swindon.

Last 10 years just low upon low.
