We’ve done it for the first time now we’ve moved house. A couple of strings of “icicle” lights from Tesco - one lot from our bedroom and another from the spare room.

They look great, just the right amount of light IMO.

We have lights across the front of ours and last night we bought some laser lights that shines starts on the outside wall. The bairn wants to get something else for the front garden, like a family of light up reindeers or a 6 foot inflatable santa and snowman.
