Ruthless Aggression era was decent tbf but that was pretty much the end of wrestling as any semblance of being a wrestling show. Tej Attitude Era obviously had a lot of razzmatazz but still had some great wrestlers so you got both.

After that you still had Angle, Lesnar, Benoit, Eddie etc who could have amazing matches and the back end of Michael's, Taker etc.

Each era afterwards just filtered more into acrobats and cosplayers. They can all do amazing feats like multiple summersaults etc but barely anyone can actually wrestle now, it's all smoke and mirrors.

Smackdown was fantastic circa 2002/03 when Heyman was running creative, particularly the tag team division with the Smackdown 6 and then Team Angle.

He was good on the indies, especially in NWA, started well enough in AEW under team Taz but then somehow has just got worse and worse since and his move to WWE has been pretty dire but then both company's are pretty dire I. Their entirety currently.

He has potential though, good on the mic and decent enough in the ring. Probably a bit small to have a high ceiling in WWE tbf, he basically wants to be the midget version of the Rock.
 
I like Ricky me. His pose on the top rope is cool.

Went to a wrestling show at a club up amble last night. The roof was about 3 ft higher than the top rope. Poor ref had to stoop all night. Was good for what it was though, bairn enjoyed it.

Really interesting you’ve said that. He’s no Rock but I have thought the same and that’s what has interested me, can he become a 1/100th of him?

It's a bit unfair to compare anyone to The Rock just because they can do a fired up, quick style promo mind. LA Knight was saddled with that comparison for ages. Bit like saying most in the 80s were just Billy Graham lite.

I do see what you mean but I'd rather folk do this style of promo than have to listen to someone like Balor or (sorry I know I go on about him) Rollins who sometimes can do a good promo but f***ing hell he's terrible.
 
Loved his wrestling and played his part in the biggest boom period in wrestling history and seemed a decent bloke judging by his reaction to the billionaire ted skits..he liked them because he knew he was getting to vince .rip Ted
 
Just finished The Hulk Hogan documentary on Netflix real good watch to be fair. Forgot how muscular he was as Hollywood Hulk Hogan in the mid to late 90s when he was in his late 40s. Some reinventing of his career that period.
Didn't realise how much he'd declined physically towards the end due to the multiple surgeries.

Glad to see Bret Hart still can hold a grudge like no one else!
 
Anyone on here feeling old, this should make you feel slightly better (or worse). Here's a pic of Andre and Heenan in 1988 - Andre was 41 and Heenan was 44.

I always saw Heenan as an old bloke, I'm now the same age as him here in this photo (🫪).
