Wrestling - Part 3

Somewhat mental that Alestair Black has gone from apparently being the original person on the phone to Randy Orton, to being released weeks later. Not sure why they brought him back for and he even beat Orton a couple of months back!

Also shows how much a shitshow it must be creatively when you consider that and Kairi Sane has been in an ongoing weekly storyline all year to just get shelved now. Even MCMG were in the middle of something and Alba Fyre was on TV every week until Chelsea Green got injured.

Zelina Vega had the US title a few months back too

Tbf, most are no great loss still.

Black is just dull as fuck tbh mate. He looks good, have to give him that but Christ, what a boring person. His ideas in AEW were dog shit and that was all him. Teleporting/spooky promos, talking in riddles. WWE just had that with Kross (the talking in riddles at least) and it doesn't work anymore nowadays.

I know from my bud who passed away who was close with Kross, WWE don't really want that even though it does persist with guys who look that way, that's all Black has. It's dull. I wasn't surprised at all they released him tbh

No arguement here, I wasn't a fan at all and found him boring. I also find it mental he was pitched to be a major player in a WM storyline and released shortly after!

From what I was told att when Kross was released WWE wanted Black to come in and be plug and play. Unfortunately Black doesn't have the charisma of Kross, at all. Case in point here is, they should've kept Kross and let him be him if that's what they wanted.

Totally agree mate. I never saw the sense in re-signing Black if they weren't going to pull the trigger on Kross who had actually managed to get over.

Kross has loads of charisma but (and again this is from convos with someone who knew him) WWE weren't willing to put him in that position. They thought he was "limited".

As a fan I would've put Kross and Black in a tag team. Make Kross the over confident mouth piece and have Black as the stoic work-horse. But WWE hates tag teams so just release the pair of em. Let's get Jelly Roll over

I really liked Kross, but why have someone with actual charisma when you can watch two El Grande Americano's, Judgement Day and Rusev on Raw every week.

Watched the first couple of episodes of the Hogan documentary and it's very good tbf.

Interesting character, we all know his flaws but he was genuinely a ridiculously massive star who transcended more than just being a wrestler.

He achieved allt hat and seemingly was still unhappy enough to make up loads of stupid lies for now reason whatsoever.

Let greed get the best of him as well. How much can you want to the point you are constantly severing every relationship you have in life and ruining your own legacy.

Great story though.

Highlights just how shite wrestling is nowadays mind.
Just finished it.

I loved the Hulkster. My alter ego, Randy Savage, didn’t like him quite as much.

He took steroids (who didn’t in that era), he told tall tales (not sure he gained that much from some of them either), he played backstage politics to protect his position (he won’t be the first wrestler to do that nor the last), and he said some stuff in private he shouldn’t have and he paid the consequences in many ways.

Personally, I couldn’t give a fuck, the way some go on about him you would think he was f***ing Adolf Hitler or Pol Pot.

He was an icon, he made you feel something when you watched him. The current lot might do all sorts of moves he couldn’t, but they couldn’t hold a candle to him.

Hulkamania will live forever.

Just finished the Hogan doc as well.

We got all the usual career points from hogan, bash at the beach, slamming Andre etc. still interesting to watch. Also fascinating how it’s always universally accepted that Warrior couldn’t work.

I thought the most surprising thing was the state of his spine after 30 years of leg drops.

Another English man in NXT. Will Kroos. Can move for a big lad.

He's big, he's bad, he'll bodyslam yer dad

Whilst I get why NXT is there and in it's original phase it was very entertaining. I'd honestly prefer them to go back to pre TV cause it was so much more impactful.

Lesnar, Cena etc turning up when you didn't know who they were could create a great shockwave. Not the same when you've seen them in development for 3 years.

Of course you did also get disasters like Batista coming up as a pastor or something shit for reverend Devon 🤣

Agreed.

If they keep it on TV then I think the talent should be expected to move up to the main roster within 6 months of joining NXT (if they’ve come from another promotion), or within a year if they’re new to wrestling.

People being there for 2, 3, 4+ years is absolutely pointless.
