Wrestling - Part 3

That was the most predictable rumble, probably even the most predictable ppv wwe has ever done
Womans rumble - made up of 15 past wrestlers coming back for a guest spot, with a winner being a person who was coming back having not wrestled for 2 years and didnt need to win to have the wrestlemania match they were setting up.
Burying current talent.

Mens rumble - 0 returning past superstars and won by a wrestler who didnt need to win as their match was setup earlier in the night.
Burying current talent.

Who from the current roster got a boost from these rumbles...'Bad Bunny' ffs

Here's the problem - Although the writing is okay, it was too predictable, a Rumble match is supposed to be about surprise returns, old school folk, we only got Shane O'Mac - Myself and another poster saw from miles off and posted atleast 3-4 weeks ago that Lashley would retain and Brock would win the Rumble to setup the feud finale. The writing's okay, but the match itself was like plain toast, just nothing happened and it was bland.

The women's is alot more complex, and is a bit like that time under Roy Keane where Sunderland fans wanted to see Ryan Noble called up to the first team - Anyone below The 4 Hoursewomen and Belair simply aren't rated by the WWE and it's not gonna happen. Like Ever. and Ever. Unless someone like Bliss becomes super-hot again which is unlikely as they're sticking with the gimmick, we're stuck with the same 5, although they are elite level it's going to be the same 5 for the very foreseeable future.

I thought the Women's Rumble was decent at best, alot of returnees on PAYG contracts as the unused ones will be part of the next budget cuts, but a decent ending.
I thought the Men's was very stale, boring and literally nothing happened aside from Shane O'Mac.

What annoys me more is there's insiders inside WWE clearly in the know and earning millions within an hour, Rousey was 16/1 when the show began, and was 5/6 when the match started.

I think I might very well be done with WWE now, that was one of the shittest PPV’s they’ve ever had and one of the worst Rumble matches ever.

As if they needed Lesnar to win the Rumble to set a match with Roman up, ignoring how stupid it is that he was even in the Rumble.

AEW has its flaws but at least it for the most part doesn’t treat the fans like absolute fuckwits.

I honestly don’t understand how people keep watching the weekly wwe shows, it can only be out of sheer habit at this point as the shows are a disgrace, I’ll still watch the main 4 ppvs they put out but apart from that I don’t watch it anymore,
AEW actually listen to there audience which works not all the time mind but at least they seem to care and not treat us like gimps or fuckwits like you said.

I stopped watching the weekly shows long ago, I just use catchup videos for them, I don’t even watch all PPVs anymore because they are just so bad but now even the Rumble is a steaming pile of shite.

I can’t even be arsed to watch the clips on YouTube 😂 I’ll just listen to a podcast usually tearing it to shreds while I do something, stopped watching weekly just before aew existed, only really watch aew weekly and njpw when I get time.

My issue with AEW is kind of a self inflicted one.

The only way I know to follow Wrestling properly 4 weekly shows then a PPV, but AEW doesn’t do that, they just have random Dynamites which are big shows but sometimes it’s hard to judge which of those are real big shows and which are just ones they put a throwaway title match on.

NXT is the only other show I’ve followed closely and until AEW was a thing they almost always had the 6-7 weekly shows then a Takeover too.

I watch Dyanmite far more than Raw or Smackdown but I still can’t really get myself to watch it every week.

I personally like the aew format of 4 ppvs I feel they are made into a big deal because of it and story’s can go well into a year before ending, the special dynamites I just treat as another dynamite because 9/10 they are which isn’t a bad thing mind, like next week MJF vs Cm punk is a ppv match but they’ll just put it on free tv, same as the Cody Rhodes m/ Sammy ladder match just gone,
I guess that’s why I watch weekly as a know most weeks I’m going to get a top match.

I'm okay with the winner, they needed to reignite the feud after Roman tested positive on Day 1, it was the predictable but the correct choice, the problem is literally nothing happened.

Kofi botching his spot summarised that Rumble, he was meant to cling onto the side wall with his feet hovering but he landed the feet instead

To be fair, although I agree with you, the bookies deserve it for being greedy enough to take bets on an event where the winners are predetermined. They must know there's going to be insiders who can easily profit but must make enough from punters to make it worth their while.

I watched RR. It was the first WWE show I had watched in several months and I didn't know any of the storylines going in.

The opening match was great with Reigns V Rollins but the ending was bullshit.

The woman's RR was dreadful.

Brock V Bobby was great, and despite the dodgy finish I liked it.

That fat lass against Becky was pitiful.

I skipped the tag match

The men's rumble was boring. Really, really boring.

Same, and agree with all of this.

It was fuckin shite.

It certainly in no way 'brought me back' to WWE

It's bizarre. For years I have struggled to find the time to watch WWE and ploughed through to watch all of their programming. This was the first non NXT show (which i've also now stopped watching) that I have seen in around 6 months, and I have plenty of time to watch now. I just have no interest whatosever.

The programming is dreadful.

I completely appreciate that you like what you like, but anyone who chooses to watch WWE over AEW is beyond me.

Brian Kendrick (remember him?) finally got released by WWE today/last night and within an hour of him leaving he’s on Dynamite against Mox tomorrow 😂 bit mental obviously he hasn’t signed or owt like that but still mental, I guess they are leaning into Kendrick and Danielson being best mates in real life, and Moxley annihilating him.

What?

Which part?
Shane has been released by wwe as they seen the bad reaction he got at the RR, initially he was meant to face Lashley at mania.

Mad that Kendrick had been in wwe for years doing nothing, good to see he isn’t wasting time.

The Shane part
Do you think Vince summoned him to his office and wished him well in his future endeavours.
