Wrestling - Part 3

Just watched Raw. What it really needs is more Russo I'd say. Maybe turn Gunther full Nazi or something. Not enough women rolling around in mud with miscarriage angles. That's what this is missing.

Cena is one of the last generations superstars and when he hangs up his wristbands WWE has a big problem, it's struggling to be interesting with him having his last run..and the Rock's disappearance during his heel turn did big damage to his final year imho.
TYhe crowd didn't enjoy the ending of Cena's last match

Howld on

After 20 years of ‘Never Give Up’ Cena goes out via submission?
Just watched the show, it's free on YouTube if anyone wants to find it.

I thought it was an ok match, taking back on that very poor trope of finisher vs finisher, where both end up looking weak. Because it takes ten of them now.

But John has given up. So I suppose it was time for a tap out.
I don't think everyone coming out was known to him, and I don't think he wanted to hold up other people's belts. (it's really small time imo).

But it was a great send off.
Wonder when he'll be back, lol

Sounds like a good end to he match and the right way to go out to me. The crowd hating it is probably a bonus, Gunther now a full on heel and getting heat, exactly what they wanted. HHH won't give a fuck about getting shit.

It also won't be John Cenas last match, couple of years and he'll be back. They always are. Though he should stay retired because he's shot to shit and can't go anymore.

They can always have their excuse of it was Cena's final full time run ;)

WWE loves pissing off their fanbase. The booking is absolutely atrocious.
Mostly but that was good booking and pretty much the go to norm of any top wrestler leaving the business. Put the next guy over as best you can on the way out.
They did cock up the Cena run though. Should never have plugged he was retiring, shouldnt have turned him heel, they missed that boat by years.

Left the title on Gunther until Mania. Have Cenas story be that he wanted to break the record (which isn't even a record) and he spends the full year chasing a title shot, he could have came up against all the guys he faced but with more on the line. Then they have him eliminated last at the 2026 Royal Rumble and there's no route to him having a title shot.

Gunther offers him a title shot at WrestleMania but only on the condition that if he loses he has to retire.

That way you now have a very strong heel and a very strong face with the record and his career in the line. You can play it up anyway you want and leave everyone guessing as to what's going to happen. Very emotionally build match.

Gunther retires Cena the same way and this goes down as a huge Mania match and remembered in history. This one will be forgotten by the Royal Rumble.
