Wrestling - Part 3

WWE released a canny video of Mick Foley and The Undertaker watching and talking about their Hell In A Cell match which happened 25 years ago this month.

Still the craziest bump I’ve ever seen and the most iconic commentary to go with it.

“They killed him! As god is my witness he is broken in half!!!”
Just watched it. Great match, all of it made sense back then and now more so. Remember watching live, recording it and giving the tape later on to a mate excited for him to see it. Mick Foley was insane. Who'd think at the time, he's actually the nicest bloke 😂. In the early 90s especially I thought he was a mad man!

Bryan Danielson's match was a bit meh after what came before it. Impossible to top what came before though.

I really wish they wouldn't do the bullshit "he's hurt his head again" spots though, its really top tier bullshit.
Apparently he did break his arm tho!

Anyone going to the arena on Friday?

Taking the bairn but haven't watched since wrestlemania so going to be a bit clueless.

There's also a smackdown taping on on the same night and it's the go home for MITB so not expecting there to be a lot of big names!

It's the raw roster Newcastle.

Then they go London sat for money in the bank

I don't know what it is about Jungle Boy and Hook but I cannot stand either of them. The upcoming beef will be an instant easy skip for me.

Who's buying AEW game on Thursday? I'm 99% sold on it. Just waiting to see if online servers are stable before buying.

You can just outright tell it's done by the people who made Wrestlemania/No Mercy for the N64, even the UI is straight out of it.

Just watched Forbidden Door and it was a great show overall.
Omega v Osprey was sensational but don't know how Kenny wasn't knocked out/broke his neck after getting dropped on his head.

Aye me and my boy are going, he can’t wait. Loves his wrestling and he’s been counting the days down for weeks.

Watched Forbidden Door the other day. Most of it was skippable so if you want to condense it down from the 14 matches you can get away with just watching the MJF match, CM Punk match, Omega v Ospreay and, if you can be arsed, Danielson's match. Most of it was very meh, but given I don't give a shit about Japanese wrestling or the trampoline cowboy stuff I'm maybe not the target audience.

Anyone see the DSotR episode about The Junkyard Dog? Sad. Very sad. A huge hero in NWA Mid South going to the WWF where he could probably feed his family more but Vinny ended up shafting him.

Watching it now... not shocked by the story of Bill Watts calling him a n*****. Had heard other stories about Watts being a racist in the past, once I replied to a tweet from JR about BW saying he was a racist and JR didn't half bite back.

Not really shocked either. Carnies and in the 70’s and 80’s.

Sounds like I’m the arnly person in the world who preferred the Wrestle Kingdom match. The kick out after 1 was mega, but the Don Callis thing did sort of ruin it for me. He gets thrown out, then just comes back and interferes like nowts a matter. Yeah, nah.

Loved both, just think the crowd added to this, Don Callis coming back out was silly but that hasn’t made me think the match wasn’t superb, both matches are easily in the top 5 this year and if they aren’t we are in for some seriously class wrestling in the coming months.

Yup, Callis is poor. I appreciate how athletic those matches are but for me, it's ultimately just a load of stuff happening for ages. Both lads were bleeding and still doing the high spots/big moves. I'd prefer to see more of a struggle but there you go.

I like Don Callis and thought the match was mostly superb. But it’s the same in tag matches etc. when they’re not tagging in and out etc. it just ruins it for me.

Anyway. Am gannin to Wrestle Kingdom 2024 whether I can afford it or not.

Agree with this. I gave it a go but skipped most of it.
