I take it’s a no from youWhat is the point of history, we are a football club in Sunderland so we could just become SFC, that would cause some confusion with Southampton, so we could drop the red and white stripes as that's just another historical thing anyway. Then we could drop the badge, with no ship, no monument, no pit wheel, all consigned to the past and just have the word Sunderland in a modern font maybe in a circle or curve or similar. All that clutter around the stadium entrance can go, from the artefacts outside, to the displays and paintings inside, references to Roker Park will be severely frowned upon. We need to redo all the seats again, maybe just a plain grey and no text. We could also cease all reference to past trophy winners and edit our Wikipedia entry to Just "Sunderland Football Club, currently EFL League One". Next time we play Newcastle we can just politely clap them on to the field and wish them well, freed from all that past rivalry that we're walking away from. Or alternatively, you could just fuck off and stop spouting such utter drivel..
