Worried mag mate re Alnwick

Palms a lot of long range shots out straight in front of him from what I've seen. Get Johnson cutting in and hitting them low shots that bounce on the six yard line that he's quite good at.
Aye

He was the next Fraser Forster 2 weeks ago!

I'm hoping for this scenario:

10 minutes in on of us is hearing down on goal one on one and alnwicks arse goes so he hauls him down, pen and a red card

25 minutes in we get a corner, whip right on top on woodman, brown and oshea catapult themselves towards him wiping him clean out, he then has to go off injured. 10 men nee keeper.

Question is, how would you feel if we had a keeper crisis and we had a 21 year old lad in nets who'd picked the ball out of his net 9 times in 3 games, seemed stuck to his line v Spurs and looked to have a poor understanding of his surroundings. It's like when Ingham played in nets v Ipswich in a crucial game. Nervy.

I just hope we exploit the potential opportunity. Typical if we had a first shot on target on 65 minutes!!

If he is that bad their defence may just want to protect him as much as possible leaving them vulnerable. I think we might get more than 3 goals

Gus going for a more attacking approach here

Pardew declared him a 'North East hero' the other day

No matter what any of them say, make no mistake - the lad will be absolutely caking his duds ahead of the game. We must exploit it.

Michael Ingham was exactly the name that came into my head, mind.

how is this relavent
I was replying to a post asking if Alnwick was ready to play, and suggesting that maybe his lack of first team football, especially compared to another similar player, might say that he might not be fully prepared for first team Prem football.

He came on at half time in his only premier league appearance at SJP. Now in his first start at home he's going to be second out of the tunnel into one of the most passionate, hate filled atmospheres he'll ever experience in his career.

He'll either be man of the match or the most hated man on Tyneside by 3.30 on Sunday.

Done my head in watching MOTD a few weeks ago when he played against Chelsea and they were going on as if he was world class. He played shit. Done one decent thing and that was punch a corner away. Which isn't even decent tbftbf
