Winter 2020 cricket Aus, NZ, SA

Going through his bad patch now so he'll be back in form this time next year for England.

Does go to show though how poor Australia are against any half decent bowling unit when Smith's not scoring.

Honestly think without Smith they'd be scoring sub 300 first innings totals on a regular basis.

imagine what the score in the ashes would have been? Probably 4 or 5-0

they really miss warner in Australia conditions like. Even more so that Smith, his average is ridiculous there and just the tempo he sets

this would have been a great time to play them, you can’t help think in 12 months they’ll be bang in form!
Need a good spinner still and a fully fit stokes to round it off

yeah stokes bowling is absolutely key, saw in cape town how he can get life out of a dead pitch

spinner is an issue! I’d still go leach like, he’s the best spinner in England for me
Bit of a disappointing day/night really since I posted the above, all three games look very lopsided now going into the fourth day. Hoping for an Aussie fightback tomorrow, be nice if they can add 150 or so for the last four wickets - make it competitive atleast.

always good to see the Aussies struggling
I know what you mean mind, I’m working nights this week so need these to continue

hoping that Pakistan can try bat out for a draw, they are usually some of the most tense ones towatch, not hopeful mind

very very impressive by India, missing 4 first XI players too, and a bowler down in this match

Its worth pointing out again that England beat these 4-1 recently, people like to try n diminish that result for some reason, but it just goes to show England aren't a bad side.

England are a very good side at home, their record in recent years speaks for itself.

Away from home they're fairly mediocre.

ah we?

How many sides have won in Sri Lanka like that? Just battered South Africa too.

Feels like there is always a caveat whenever we win away for some reason.

We aint perfect, but we win a lot of games like

Beat SA 3-1 and SL 3-0 away from home in recent tours tbf.

4 defeats and 2 wins from their last 6 away tours.

Not saying they're hopeless like, but its the reason why they haven't been to number 1 in the world for 8 years. And tours away to Australia and India in recent years have been drubbings.

Again very good home side, but away its patchy. Mind you its the same for a lot of other teams at the moment too.

Impressed with India and Rahane, good win that. They have bowled Australia out cheaply 3 times in 2 tests which isnt easy. Is that Cameron Green meant to be some sort of wonderkid? On commentary when I was watching they were predicting him to average over 40 with bat and under 30 with the ball in test cricket which I thought was a bit over the top based on 2 tests.

When we play the stronger nations I always think we under prepare tbh. A couple of two day games against the Queensland Governors wife's best mates XI is never enough.

From the little I've seen of the Australia-India series (dodgy Facebook edits) I'd say that Siraj looks like a seriously talented bowler.

I dont disagree with some of this, but it is worth pointing out Australia's record for example, who haven't won in England in over 20 years, India get hammered everytime in England etc

Most teams lose away from home.

I don't think it makes England a bad team if they lose in Oz and India. Just goes to show how good we were under Strauss and a few years under Cook.

Totally agree, first time I have seen him too, only been bowling for 5 years it said.

He averages 52 with bat and 25 ball I think in FC cricket, so its based on that, although only 17 games I think

Got to give someone like that a chance, I quite like Wade at 6 for them though, be interesting to see what they do. They didnt look a good balance to me in that game

Don't rate Travis Head either.
