Rubbish. They looked absolutely shot until the last two minutes when we gave away three pointless free kicks. Until then, we were starting to look more likely than we had at any stage of the game. Watch the last 15 minutes again. They were blowing out of their arses.

Totally agree , they looked more knackered than us and I fancied us in extra time .
said at the time their winner looked like a foul aswell,

we sat back and let them back in it though , how Ross hasn’t learned from this is staggering

Don't know if this has already been mentioned and I'm not looking for excuses as we were poor but why was VAR not used ??

Not once did we attack with creativity on consent basis like Charlton heartbroken angry upset at my club this is a very dark tough loss for me and older Sunderland supporters they are going to send me to my grave we are not going to touch the top 6 next year as this squad is getting weaker and weaker no real money left. Is Mr Donald ready to open his wallet? Or are we just going to be foundering in L1 for five years?

Some fans are intent on brainwashing themselves into thinking Charlton were much better than us. They weren't, there was very little in it and we didn't deserve to lose like that.

But I don't think we did enough to deserve to win it.
 
As the ball was played in a chap behind me immediately commented "That's a foul" seconds before in was in the net. I think that most people around agreed that it was and all momentarily expected the goal to be disallowed. But it was not to be.

In the 2004 play-off semi Crystal Palace blatantly fouled Mart Poom in the 90th minute to score and level the game.A goal that very clearly should have been disallowed. From there Palace got extra time and won on penalties . Had their goal been disallowed as it should we would have won the game in normal time.

In football shit happens . We need to move on and prepare to win automatic promotion next season.

We had one decent move with a good save from leadbitter.
They had a great move where they scored the first.
Other than that it was dire from both teams
