Wimbledon vs MK

They were, and it's odd because I never liked Wimbledon, but I will be rooting for AFC Wimbledon in this fixture.
Oh aye, couldn't stand Wimbledon. Always like to see AFC do well though.

I think most will feel the same, and for once in football it's not fickle.

Gan on AFC Wimbledon, hope they do the same next time, screw the FA.

Totally back Wimbledon we ended up in their supporters bar last season after our game and one of the directors was on the mike , he made it clear they still feel strongly about it and rightly so ...huge respect for Wimbledon and always will have it’s a great club
Next matchday programme: AFC Wimbledon welcome our guests thr Milton Keynes Red Bullsh*tters.

Deserved every thing they got, Wimbledon.

Club had no choice but to move out from Plough Lane when the council refused to let the club redevelop the ground, and turned down at least two other applications in the borough by the club to buy land & build a new stadium. Winkleman didn't help by suggesting that the club move to Dublin, that would have been a disgrace, but they HAD to move from Plough Lane.

They moved to Crystal Palace & the fans objected on the grounds that it was too far & not in Merton. The club itself had little or no option if they wanted to continue playing top level football. The fans boycott left the club in a real predicament, fold or move elsewhere.

Scoot forward a year or two & AFC Wimbledon are rising through the ranks. They don't play in Merton & their "home ground" is even further from Plough Lane than Selhurst Park was. Kingsmeadow was the home of Kingstonian, it was purpose built for them. Kingstonian now ground share with Corinthian Casuals after being kicked out of Kingsmeadow.

Couldn't give two hoots for MK Dons, but hated Wimbledon & hate AFC Wimbledon.

Not quite.... AFC Wimbledon bought lease to ground, if they hadn't, both them and Kingstonina would be homeless.

AFC Wimbledon then sold lease to Chelsea in 2015 to fund building of their new ground. Kingstonian moved out in 2017.

Wimbledon then gave Kingstonian £1million to go towards funding a new stadium

Had no choice but to move out as Chelsea said they couldn't play there any longer. Not sure regarding this £1m payment from Wimbledon, as they are ground sharing for the forseeable future with Corinthian Casuals

Kingstonian offered the new AFC Wimbledon a ground share and as AFCW raised through the football pyramid they bought the ground and then offered Kingstonian the groundshare.

Unfortunately they needed to sell the ground to pay for the new Plough Lane stadium and when Chelsea bought it, they decided to put their women's team there and kick out Kingstonian.

To be fair the old owners of Kingstonian knocked off with the money AFC Wimbledon gave them for the ground and they then gave them £1m for a new ground. Crap situation though.
