Nice’s numbers this season under Farioli seem to suggest that he’s of a similar ilk. Interesting that two of the clubs main targets seem to be play the exact opposite of the sort of football we played at our best under Mowbray last season.

Before he went to Nice he was known (and criticised by some) for being massively cavalier and attack minded. His sides scored loads more than those around them but conceded loads more too.

It’s weird how he’s been at Nice, not sure whether he’s being pragmatic and adjusting his approach based on the players he has there or whether he’s trying to develop as a coach and address his defensive shortcomings but has over compensated too far the other way now and can’t get the balance right.
