Funds are available to compete at this level. I don't see what people are struggling with?

The days of spending millions are gone for the time being. As was said by the new regime when they came in, you don't need to spend that much to compete.

The sooner people realise we are in League 1 the better. Piss poor financial management has got us into this mess and the new lads aren't about to wreck the club even more.

Some people on here aren't happy unless they are bitching and whining about something mate, it's just the way it is.
 
I'm quite happy we seem to not be a soft touch in transfers anymore, and seem willing to take a little longer to get them through but pay less money. I know ideally we would get then in ASAP but if we take a little more time but get a much better deal surely that's worth it??.

Spot on. Noticed in the last few weeks people are starting to panic as we obviously arent going to walk the league.
I bet a large proportion of them work with Mags who are taking the piss.

I accepted that we’re in League One a long time ago (Grimsby pre season it was) when the *quality* of the players on view showed me the level to which we have fallen, I don’t expect us to be splashing out millions on players, but in the case of Grigg is he a League One level player that we can afford to bid for, or is he Championship or above level with a value that we can’t match, if he’s of a level/value that we can’t compete at why are we wasting theirs and our time with so called derisory offers?

eh? we know we have the money to buy wigan players as we bought one already..all that is happening is negotiating..they rubbished our fiurst offer..good..if they like your first offer you are doing it wrong..the players is really popular with wigan fans..wigan are struggling..,they have to make it look like they are fighting us..and our owners are fighting..
not like when we bought ndong..and the owner of the other clubw was laughing at how much we paid..same when we bought papy..i dont wnat the other owner laughing..

i wasnt a member but i was a supporter and reader of this board when we bought ndong..so do you disagree that negotiating hard is a good thing? that previous owners overpaid for players?

Eisa from Cheltenham. But to be fair to him he picked up an injury in August and hasn't been back long.

In my opinion they don't have cash to splash, they've already said we are a patient back on our feet not completely better and again IMO they won't (and shouldn't) over commit as long as players like Cattermole and Oviedo are costing us circa £50k ? a week for both.
I still don't think some accept how far financially we've fallen from the Short days of only 2-3 seasons ago !
