Wijnaldum

Yes, plenty of times, most recently when I attended the Feyenoord/PSV match in March. The lad is a good player, 15 goals from midfield takes some doing and there's a reason why PSV can demand £15m for him. No point in dressing it up, the mags are going to be getting a cracking player and most of us would have been over the moon if he was signing for us.

Are they definitely signing him? Also, what's the correlation between them signing someone and us not showing ambition?

How do you know we won't? I don't understand what them signing a player has to do with us showing lack of ambition.

Also, the lad in question has only played in Holland. He may not be suited to this league

Wijnaldum's agent confirmed 2 weeks ago that we asked about Wijnaldum and we refused to pay the money. We want to do everything on the cheap and the clubs only interest is finishing 17th in the league, nothing more, zero ambition. Never mind though, 31 year old Stewart Downing might arrive, yeah real ambition that, a journeyman looking for his last payday.

We may have thought he wasn't worth what they were asking and could get better.

In a month's time, if we have the squad we do now, I'll probably start to agree with you, until then, none of have a clue what is happening and what Newcastle do has no bearing on our ambition, or otherwise.

There seems a good few. I'm not exactly a happy clapper but it the start of July and the market hasn't got going at all yet.

its still very early doors - same happened last season. I am totally relaxed about us getting the players DA wants to turn us in to a team that is capable of a top 10 finish.

Has he sined then?
I'm confused, some of these posts seem to imply that he's sined for the mags, but I've found nowt to confirm this.

Absolutely MASSIVE signing for Newcastle if it comes off, fair play to them. With the right manager they could be quite a force in this league. I don't know whether that man is McClaren mind.

I hope we're negotiating deals for players of this similar quality behind the scenes (Hopefully we get Lens)

You just love kissing Mag arse.

Are you taking the f***ing piss?
Janmaat, Perez and Cisse all had good seasons and make up the spine of their team iirc.
Cabella has taken a year to get used to Premier League football and could be like a new signing for them.
Wijnaldum and Sissoko are tremendous players who will be a big attacking threat in midfield.

Just depends whether the wolly with the brolly can get them working hard.

Perez, Cabella, Janmaat, Cisse and Sissoko were all part of the team that struggled last season.

You're a f***ing heed case.

So essentially you are saying that so could we?

Wijnaldum is a massive signing, and we'd both love him at Sunderland.

With a team including Perez, De Jong, Cabella, Janmaat, Wijnaldum and Sissoko, Cisse(?) they could be a force.
Of course we would.

I was referring to your "fair play to them. With the right manager they could be quite a force in this league." comment.
