He'll be a good signing for them and if it was us getting him i would be over the knot, Fortunatley nothing is yet concrete and even if they do get him, They'll be happy to flog him on if hes quality in 2 years for big bucks.

Like any other clubs outside the top 6.

Arguably yes, He's a calculated risk and they seem happy to go with it. Time will tell if he makes the cut as being a) suited for Prem footy, b) the mags level (midtable-ish) c) too good and will be sold elsewhere.

Where does he fit in at NUFC? Seems to me that they've got plenty of players who already operate in those types of areas. Hopefully they keep on ignoring their dreadful defence while collecting trinket players to keep the proles happy.

Heard the same amount of hype about

Sissoko
De Jong
Anita
Janmaat
Cabella
Perez

And yet they're still a shit team. How is this possible with the amount of superstars they have

For the price mentioned he'll have to be very very good for them to make a big buck profit

I heard the same last year when they were signing Cabella and De Jong.
Don't forget Riv ;)

What player is not a calculated risk though? It will be a statement of intent if they do manage to sign him, and I wish it was us making that statement rather than them.

Most the hype comes from this board.Never seen this lad play, but he was class at the start of the thread,so I'll base my judgment on that

Are people suggesting Ashley will spend £15 million plus wages on Wijnaldum and then another £15 million plus wages on Austin?

Can't see it to be honest, they've got bigger worries than midfield to fix first imho.

I agree, but if we were to sign him,he'd flog Sissoko. We've still got the same centre backs that we got promoted with.I'd rather we sort that problem first

It's worth it to ensure you're around next season. Fat Mike will know the crack

One team showing massive ambition by paying £15m for a player who will massively improve their team.

One team refusing to show any ambition whatsoever and targeting 31 year old Stewart Downing and a loan player from Chelsea.

Halycon days.

Have you seen the lad play? Are you sure he'll 'massively improve them'?

Is he even going to sign for them? You are criticising us and praising them with things that don't presently exist.

How much would you expect to get for him, maybe that boat has sailed expecting to get big money for him.

He will not spend that imo mate, I don't care if they sign this bloke, they'll still have the same issues as before.

No idea,mate.Ashley doesn't sell that cheap,possibly £12m,that's just a guess though

they can sign who the fuck they want, they'll still not be any better because it's a circus up there and at the minute they couldn't win a f***ing raffle against us.

As long as we do good business ourselves that should continue

Yes, plenty of times, most recently when I attended the Feyenoord/PSV match in March. The lad is a good player, 15 goals from midfield takes some doing and there's a reason why PSV can demand £15m for him. No point in dressing it up, the mags are going to be getting a cracking player and most of us would have been over the moon if he was signing for us.
