Could well be true, but who gives a fuck, the same thing happened with cisse and that worked out well for them .
 
People have opinions and such on this. I have to trust my contact even though the information is to the contrary now. We were interested. Put a offer forward and it was rebuffed. No big deal. We moved onto other targets. Every club will have a set price in mind of what they are willing to pay. We were not willing to pay whatever the price was. That does not mean it's a lack of ambition or lack of money, just that we don't believe it's good value for money.

Don't know about Newcastle interest at all. If they get him, it will be be wise they are feel they are getting value for money. Be interesting to see how it gets on in the EPL.

Saying all that though, I would be surprised if he came to the north east. Lots of clubs interested apparently.

He's a pretty decent player tbf. If they pull this off its a coup, give them that, the bastards.

I just hope we can get a similar player of such quality... We need at least 2 imo.

Fair play to them if he does end up quality. However if he was thatgood he wouldn't be going to Newcastle.
There have also been many so called quality players from the Dutch league that have literally been shite, so I'm not worried.

Hasn't there only been one club that's confirmed as interested so far?
 
His own agent clearly said we enquired but moved on when we were told he didn't have a buyout clause in his contract. Basically, we
don't think he's worth what it will take to buy him.

Still plenty of time for us to get some quality through the door. I hope we do, otherwise we've learned nothing from the past few seasons.

We've paid 10m on Rodwell and we don't want to pay 11-15m on Wijnaldum? We're being runned by idiots then.
Do you know if the other targets are of the same quality/pedigree as Wijnaldum?

We out forward a price we were willing to pay. It was rebuffed and we moved on. That's all.

Yes. 1 in particular, would be an excellent signing.
 
People would be jazzing their pants if these stories were about SAFC, he may not sign but the rumours are looking good for them up the road. You would have to applaud them for having a go, begrudgingly of course
