It won't because it's two different sports.if they do happen to like it, why would the want to then play proper cricket. It's all flashy stuff with little substance sponsored by crisp products. Simply the 100 is not cricket but a new game like rounders or baseball.See Twisted’s post below.
I think it’ll get more kids playing and clubs will see the benefit over the next 5-10 years. Better had cos the selling of the game’s soul needs to result in something good.
Course they have.
I didn't realise the new audience they are after were specifically the 'absolutely thick as shit that they can't understand what wicket means' demographic.
The ECB have pretty much bankrupted themselves in an attempt to destroy the domestic game. Utterly utterly astonishing.
Yeah sadly I don't think there's a win to be had here.
Success and its a death knell for cricket
Fail and its a death knell for cricket
There are times when I get the impression this seems to be the ECB's aim.Yeah sadly I don't think there's a win to be had here.

If they move on to proper cricket sure. Not if it doubles the number of kids picking up bats and balls, and they move on to the proper formats. We’ll see.

That’s the crux of it for meIf they move on to proper cricket sure.
I just don't see what this achieves that they couldn't have been done pumping even a quarter of the budget into the existing t20
The win for the ECB is...
I should have specified I meant there is no good outcome here for us
I got you! The win for us is that this competition utterly fails. Unfortunately, again, the ECB seem determined to bankrupt themselves rather than leave the counties with any power. I've said this loads of times but it's worth repeating, designing a new competition with the specific aim of alienating your current customer base might the single stupidest marking idea of all time.
Can you imagine what could have been achieved with this level of investment into the domestic game?
Hideous. Flintoff the main face of the broadcasting team too. It’s vomit inducing and I want it to fail miserably.
I thought England paid his wages myselfBiggest farce is that this year Ben Stokes will play more for Yorkshire than the club that pays his wages
I thought England paid his wages myself
If it achieves it objectives and more people and youngsters pick up a ball and bat and play more at a young age and increase people playing club cricket that can only be a good thing!!
If it fails then we back where we at now where local clubs are folding struggling to field teams and youngsters will continue to not play cricket and prefer PlayStation’s etc.
