Why?

I personally think we lack ambition. Wether it be in looking to sign players or, keeping them when others come knocking.

When we are in the market for a player it never seems to be a player we all agree is quality, once or twice we will have sure but, for the most part we either never even compete or accept defeat far to easily.

Same as managers, when is the last time we aggressively pursued a manager doing well at another club?

When was the last time we went after a teams best player? Or a highly sort after player? I recall CW bring one but how many others?

Our lack of ambition in the transfer market, wether managers or playing is shocking.

Out of interest, when was the last time we actually poached a manager doing well?

The Hull cup game was turning point and that was why so many were so angry with it, same thing happened under O'Neill when we went out of cup, players all have their flipflops on and are winding down for their holidays, these pricks won't give two fucks about us getting relegated when they're holidaying in Miami and Barbados in a few weeks.

Why is this happening again?
After 77,85,87,91,97,03 and 05, why are we going to be relegated again ( 90% chance in my opinion)?
What is it about SAFC that makes us so f***ing shit?
Some blame the fans, noticeably non attendees on here, but that is nonsense.
Location? The vermin up the road manage to overcome this and Boro signed world stars.
It is the mentality of the club as a whole?
What is the answer and why does this keep repeating itself? I simply haven't a clue what it is but like many others, I want someone or something to blame. But right now, I cannot think what....
Pull yourself together man.

We could be supporting Harrogate Town, playing in front of a crowd of 3,500 every week. We don't know how lucky we've got it.

Gotta laugh, the online heroes given in the big one again

We've bought players who simply aren't good enough. Its as simple as that imo.

I'm not convinced we're definitely going down either.

Problem is though its a matter of time,we have never had a solid base since we came up,the constant revolving door of players every transfer window is
killing the club.

Utter Baloni as usual
What you on about mate? What he has said is true, apart from a few years under Reid we have been a disaster, too good for the championship and not quite good enough for the Premiership. We have never really been settled, have no direction and now we demand a new manager every 4 weeks. We are a shambles from top to bottom and we really shouldn't be.

Mis-management is a huge part of it but I am starting to think whether our expectations of us being a mid-table side are also unrealistic?

34 years a supporter now and we have only done it three times.:(

Maybe this is just how it is?

He flames me all of the time. He is scared of me.

Your right. I just didn't like the way he phrased it.

We are a City in England, slightly poor granted but, better than a lot of other places. We have Newcastle and Durham 20 minutes away so location, imo, is not an issue.

Better players than we've ever had settled on Teesside np, I know where I'd rather live.

Ravenelli was on £60k p/w 15 years ago. The mags overpaid for stars anarl. All 3 big NE Clubs need to overpay due to location and yo-yo history.

Personally I wanted SAFC to attempt to achieve what Boro did and what the mags nearly (thank fk) did - if it results in Finals and Europe. Now I think FFP has stopped wu ever doing this.

We're close to being exactly where Boro are now but without a Cup win or Europe.

We buy mentally weak, tired, past their best players who see the club as an easy meal ticket or retirement home.
Partly the location factor too as overpaying said players is the only way we can attract them here.
The dross we've signed AND then given astronomical wages to is quite staggering.
This, then add, how frustrated the fans become with poor performances and couldn't care a less attitudes and it creates an atmosphere that must be a nightmare to play in, that in turn drives the players performances to such a low point, they don't want the ball, watched this scenario all my life and it reads like a script.

Mentally weak managers and players. Expectation is too high and they crumble under the pressure. The people of the NE treat football as their church, the players shit themselves when the pressure is on.
