Why won’t anyone shoot?

I think Xhaka was tired he ran a lot of ground didn’t have the energy to take the shot.
But other players did shoot. Even Alderete had a shot from way out.

Xhaka decided not to shoot from 20 yards in the middle of the goal and passed it to Talbi, who then lost it. Just take the shot on as its not as if another good chance will be created in 5 minutes time.

Very frustrating when I side who don't create many opportunities don't take a shot on from that position. Its the same with crossing we seem to go in triangles and very often no cross comes on or after a number of passes we go backwards then someone in a worse position floats one in.
Again the crossing thing is infuriating, best chance to score is when defenders are facing their own goal, we never decide to cross early and seemingly always allow a defence to get back in position.

The corridor of uncertainty iirc

Playing with inverted wingers who are seemingly incapable of using their ‘wrong’ foot to cross the ball. So many opportunities are wasted through players having to cut inside rather than going outside and getting a ball in. And you’re right, it’s absolutely infuriating.

Tactics. Retaining possession is more important to RLB and it’s worked this season and we’ve achieved our objective with 9 games to go.

Wingers don’t take anybody on and don’t shoot from outside the box. Keep possession instead.

I was hoping the shackles would be released after reaching 40 points but I think we will see the same until end of season.

I’m hoping this isn’t showing a lack of dimension to RLB as he has always shown himself to be pragmatic but I do hope we play with a bit more freedom when we have a few players back.

Probably the 2nd most frustrating thing about our style of play tbh.

The 1st bring the lack of urgency to do anything and willingness to just keep passing it back to our GK every single time we move the ball up towards the half way line.

I've always preferred players to just smash it towards goal as there's always the chance of slotting it away on the rebound. It's not rocket science.

It will be exactly this. Everything is Data driven.
A lass behind me on Saturday was screaming at RLB for not going 442.

I heard elsewhere last week that in the first half of the season there wasn't a single side in the league who had any point played this system.

It's a different game now with inverted wingers, recycling the ball, pressing triggers etc. Until someone at some stage decides to go 2 up top with wingers whipping the ball in and they'll be hailed a genius

We absolutely need to bring some attacking intent on Sunday or we are asking for trouble. Got to test their keepers under the pressure of a derby, shoot on sight for me.
