Why has Foden gone from hero to zero?

I wonder if he's got a little bit too comfortable. Seems far too happy to be starting a few then being dropped for a few. Doesn't seem to have that drive that 20 year old Phil Foden had to get on the ball in games and make things happen.
Exactly this imho. Seems to be happy stagnating on huge wages. Yeah he'll win trophies etc but he's lost the 👁 of the 🐅 that made him such an exciting prospect and made him stand out.

think the increased physicality of the league has hampered him a bit as well. maybe teams know how to defend against him as well, bit of a coincidence his run of form scoring against us and leeds were newly promoted clubs.

Can’t be many players these days 400 games into their career, 26 years of age and aside from internationals only played under one manager, reason for that obviously being he was bloody successful but may well mean he’s not seen as many perspectives and coaching methods as a lot of players his age

I agree about Foden. Amazing touch and technique but apart from in the best City teams where they have about 80% possession on the edge of the opposition box, I’ve never seen him consistently impact matches
How is he getting in the city team if he’s nout flash?
Rodgers is the former Liverpool and Leicester manager.

Rogers however, doesn't play for a team on cheat mode (yet still finished top 4, did the double of City and won a European trophy) so his numbers aren't going to be like for like.

Rogers is a better player than Foden.
Same one yous absolutely berated at the beginning of the season?

Don’t try and deny it either i witnessed it with my own eyes and ears at the sol this season

It’s like players can lose form isn’t it….

I think a summer off and a reset will do him good.
When you look at his past 4 or so seasons he's played in Euro 2020(21), then the World Cup in 2022, Euro 24 then the Club World Cup last summer on top of playing a hell of a lot of games for City while he was possibly still growing and developing. This summer off will do him the world of good and maybe give him the kick in the pants he needs to just remind him that you don't just get all these opportunities. He's a smashing little player and will come good.

I wasn't even at games at the start of the season as I live in Mexico. So yes, I will deny it. I've never berated Rogers and even if I had, which I haven't, it doesn't change the fact he is a better player than Foden.

How fans behave doesnt change anything. Foden is overrated and not as good in my honest opinion. Thats all.

Young lad with a big family already, on top wages with the pressure of being an MVP and expected to be England's saviour in the last Euross where he flopped for the first time. Plus playing so many games so young.

To say he wasnt much cop in the first place is choosing not to believe your eyes.

Not the first young lad to buckle under such pressure. By age 25 even George Best was showing signs of cracking as well and there wasn't wall to wall social media back in the 60s..

Mayvbe a move away might re-ignite him

It sounds like he's had some personal issues going on over the last year or so. The past two seasons he hasn't been as effective as in previous years, hopefully it clicks again for him next season.
