O Reilly sorryLewis?
Agree. Elite skills set but not mindset perhaps? Hoy Sancho, Greenwood and Grealish into the same bracket. Heads not always in the game. Not saying they've got the same character flaws just that they've not got the mindset and focus to be elite competitors. Hence they have the ability to delivery stellar performances but do so sporadically.Hes clearly one of the most naturally talented players in the country. But my god he is having such little impact in games.
Shame as when he's on it, he's a delight to watch.
Yes, I think he does need to move on.. Peps slow ,passing style is , has killed Citeh this season. The build up is so laborious nowadays for Citeh and is a shadow of what went before. Sadly Foden for me doesn't fit the style of play now.How do you go from being last season's MVP to unused, forgotten substitute in the poorest City team of the last 7 years.
Does he need to move on?
It's a mystery to me.
I think he does need to leave but he wouldn’t be starting at barca or Bayern. Could possibly push Brahim Diaz out at Real but not in the form he has been the last year or so.I wouldn't be surprised if he went to Bayern, Barca or Madrid and left City this summer
City will no doubt go out and spend £150 million plus on a couple of stand outs from the world cup and I think with Lewis having a canny season, we will be getting pushed down the pecking order again

I'd find room for Foden in a 26 man squad in the hope that 8 weeks in a squad bubble helps him focus, noting that hasn't happened for him in previous tournaments.
Put it this way I'd rather have the potential of Foden in the squad than the muted 5 centre halves, one of which being Dan Burn ffs.
Foden still celebratingTbf they won the Champions League two year ago.
They've been much more direct this season and made a point of getting the ball out wide to the likes of Doku and Semenyo to run at defenders, I don't think you can say they're slow and loborious anymore.Yes, I think he does need to move on.. He's moved house and there's no basin amongst the crockery at the new gaffHe’s letting his hair grow!![]()
Aye, I never really understood why some on here insisted that he was 'world class'.I think people make every excuse under the sun for Golden Foden when the reality is he's nearly 26 and has had one season in his entire career where he's shown any degree of consistency. He's talented but hasn't done anywhere enough to justify the hype.

Newcastle do. Their selection policy is modelled on a game show "the price is right", unlike others who use footy manager. He's a luxury. Not good tall enough, fast enough or powerful enough to be a forward and not creative enough to be a winger. He's good playing somewhere in the middle of those positions. That's fine if you dominate play, but City don't anymore and once they play with a proper striker in Haaland, they don't have spare places to give to someone who doesn't quite fit.
City's "slow build up" wasn't evident in the League Cup Final ?Yes, I think he does need to move on.. Peps slow ,passing style is , has killed Citeh this season. I haven’t really watched them this year, but I think de Bryune and Rodri have been huge misses for them this season. Kev pulled the strings a lot last year which allowed Foden to play so well as he was being fed handsomely. And Rodri was a colossus in both defence and turning the ball over, which allowed Foden to play an attacking game against an unset defence.
Even before Rodri he had Fernandino playing that role, imho, Kovacic simply isn’t up to the job at that level, so I think Foden is maybe only as good as the players he is around.
Every show pony needs a work horse.
Last year Phil had physical and mental problems apparently, but this year he should be fully recovered. I think he is in some way victim of Pep's own loss of mental form and clarity. He's been using Semenyo alongside Haaland in a narrower central position. Pep still doesn't have a clear idea about his ideal midfield and is constantly changing names and tactics - to disastrous effect as in Madrid.
It could also be that despite his immense natural talent and promise, Foden just hasn't been able to go one step further and fill de Bruyne's boots, as expected. It's a real pity because I thought we had a world class attacking talent here that could have taken England to the next level.
