Aye, but Northern Welsh is different to Southern Welsh, so which version does BBC Cymru use?
 

anyone ever watched BBC Alba for the Scottish football? They show the build up in English (as they have pundits who obviously can't speak Gaelic and interviews with players/managers who can't speak Gaelic) then the game starts and they speak exclusively in Gaelic. What's the point? :lol:

On s4c they show the Welsh league in Gaelic on the main channel

agreed. Does anyone even speak Gaelic in Scotland anymore? Folk can probably understand it but does anyone actually go around speaking it to each other? Having a Gaelic channel is a nice thought but only when it doesn't impact on the football. :evil:

I had a friend in Glasgow from the Inner Hebrides, and the majority there speak Gaelic as their native language.

A while back I read an article in the Guardian's media section about the very low viewing figures of some S4C programmes.

Apparently they use an outside firm to carry out vox pops/surveys on viewing habits and not one single respondent had watched a particular football programme, so, I think for the first time ever, the official viewing figure was 0.

A true, if not particularly rivetting story.

Can't be many. Most will be on the islands.

The majority of road signs on both inner and outer hebs are in gaelic. In Coll we went into a pub and literally everyone spoke gaelic, was weird and intriguing, not one person speak English other than me asking for two pints.
