“Alba” is Gaelic for Scotland. The Romans called it “Scoti”, which is where its modern “English” name comes from.
Scoti only came to mean the people in Scotland in the 9th century after the Scots had migrated there from northern Ireland (about the same time folk started calling it Albania/Albany). The Romans called it Caledonia.

Almost feel sorry for the OP. It’s the SMB equivalent of crapping your pants at junior school. You may never live it down, but it’s the highlight of the year for everyone else.
