Agree we’re in L1 due to poor management etc, but also due to merit too. We just don’t play good enough football. Simple as that.. Having fans, a big stadium & what we accomplished 90-48 years ago doesn’t entitle us to think of ourselves as a PL team. There are appx 65 teams above us that are better placed to think that of themselves than we are. It sucks balls, but that’s how it is.
There is no one else in L1 with a Category 1 Academy. I would doubt any club at this level would have equal training facilities. I would imagine our average wage is amongst the highest. We get the highest crowds and biggest away followings. We now appear to have a first class footballing structure of scouts, recruitment, analysis, fitness etc. None of this guarantees success but it is why all other fans at this level think we should walk the league. We have some amazing advantages but seem to be making incredibly hard work of getting out of this division. For me in Parkinson and Johnson we have made bad appointments and as that is the crucial appointment this has and is costing us.

academy and crowd side matter long term not shrot term. i dont thicnk the club would claim they have the recuitment and scouting department up to scratch yet
Listen man we all know that making fun of people's height on line is akin to bullying.
steve is actually quite tall and broad..awful typo by me!

the owner of BCFC is a long standing clientof mine..he doesnt give jobs to people who talk a good game..he didnt get that tich doing that.

how do we know? If he comes across really well at interviews maybe that will get him somewhere. It certainly seemed to work with KS and KLD. I mean if you were judging him purely on his CV, it would be steady yet unspectacular

Would you keep Lee Johnson as Head Coach if he failed to get us promoted this year?

Season after season it’s the same excuses we are a premier league club with a third rate coach
We are a league one club, poorly run and recovering from being at the brink of existence.

The amount of shite coming out of fans about what we deserve and where we should be, fact of the matter is we are a 3rd rate club with grand ambitions. We may have won stuff in the past, but its nearly 50 years since we did anything of note in the English game.

I have faith that KLD and Speakman know what they are doing, and for one am prepared to give LJ the time needed to put things right.

steve lansdown would have known him for many years as Lee Johnson played for thre club. When Lee Johsnon got his first managers job..the BCFC owner wS ONE OF his references

no, not if he fails to get promoted..and indeed if we were out of promotion contention id get rid of him. weare fifth though.
Oh, well we agree then. I wouldn't get rid at the moment or even if we get beaten by Ipswich. However, if we look bad in January and they had someone who they know they could get then I'd push the button. Its funny for years we would get a manager in to save us from relegation who would turn us around yet we can't do it to get promotion.

2 points 1. Every other fans forum would have us as favourites to go up. Neutrals tend to feel our facilities and stature count for something. Yet when I pointed that out I was called a 'self-entitled arsehole' by another fan on here - a bit harsh I felt. 2. The key point is how long is 'the time needed to put things right'. The vast majority of fans agreed he should have another shot this season. If he fails to get us up there is a very strong argument to be made that he is simply not a man who is going to deliver promotion. Some managers have the steel - Reid, Keane, McCarthy etc. - some don't. So, how long do you propose we give him?

We're a League 1 club pulling in League1 money ,struggling and failing to deal, with legacy issues over the last four seasons. The silver lining is that we retain the potential to be a premier league club however we'll need a competent owner to bring that about.
It's worth remembering that the only owner who had us in the top flight for a sustained spell lost upwards of £150m for his trouble.

How come "we are a Premier League team" and not a Championship team? How many teams in the Championship are also Premier League teams?

How big does the Premier League need to be to fit in all of these Premier League teams who aren't actually currently in the PL?

Should the PL just be the top 20 teams in the country sorted by stadium capacity? Maybe with the academy category being equivalent to an extra 5000 seats, to make it relevant to the rankings.

...The reason why we fell down the leagues and can't get out of league one, is the inability to adapt fast enough and crucially react faster than our opponents on and off the pitch at a sufficiently consistent level....
I believe we've been ran like a shit show for far too long. Our tendancy to sack our way out of trouble has got us exactly where we are...
If we never sacked O'Neil or Poyet we've have never fell to the 3rd tier of English football.
When we fell to this level, I believe Coleman would have been far more capable than any manager we have employed since.

Only if we strengthen (at least at the back) in January. Our current squad isn't good enough to maintain form across an entire season as our current back five are way too inexperienced and far too soft for this division. If we do that and he fails he should go just as soon as we have someone credible lined up. Bumping him with no well researched replacement tapped up would be crackers and serve only to continue our tailspin down the who'll be daft enough to come here crap managers list.

I'm having a pop at no one. I just don't like seeing people winding themselves up so pointlessly. Been there, done that and I know it's not good for anyone, especially yourself.
Since when am i winding myself up pointlessly ? I commented on your comment. O.K. Suggest you don't comment anymore if you don't like the replies you get on them.

Its the standard media narrative and I simply don't think its right. To me our problem was a failure of leadership above the manager and both Moyes and Grayson talked about chaos at the club and Coleman may well have steadied a sinking ship, but he couldn't pump the water out fast enough to stop the ship from still sinking. In League one; our hopeless leader finally handed over control to the asset strippers and the sale of Maja and lost parachute payment was the crucial point, that doomed us and none of that has anything to do with the sacking of any manager.

The ugly truth is KLD and his Team have avoided sacking Johnson in the summer and to me that was a bad indicator, that the new team may well be lacking in leadership, just as badly as the previous two regimes. I had sincerely hoped that a consortium with the better interests of the club and maybe some local connections would had taken over and you and others are kidding yourself, that we have turned some massive corner.

Do I think we could still go up ? absolutely. Whilst others spin the league as 'our level' and make excuses. Thats only true, in we could beat any side in this league and its a matter of finding a way to string those pearls together and produce a roadmap to either second, or a playoff victory. If we fail to go up the plan is a bust and were going to have to sack Johnson anyways, so we may as well pull the trigger now and a week to find a replacement.
