Spot on ,think we will know a lot more end of Jan window.I hope to hell we are wrong LA but i feel as if we are being strung along.
KLD isnt stringing anyone along-he has made clear youth development and sustainability on the football sideare his goals...same exact goals his father had. His father was known for making things much better off the [pitch at marseille but not spending that much on players.
He'll be lucky to turn a profit with the current recruitment model of coaches and players.
the model is fine..he wont get every head coach a[ppointment correct and not every signing will work out (those most of those signed under him ahve been very good, stewrat for example might well fetch a fee now which would cover all of the outlay on transfers to date)

the west ham owners got loads of managerial appotemnts worng and oads of signings wrong..they are sitting on a huge profit.

It might not be deliberate but its looking pretty inept at the moment. The summer signings are looking a bit ropey currently and the coach is struggling badly.

i think the summer signings bar one or two look fine..yes theyare kids so are inconsistent, but that was to be expected, and its what the fans wanted.

Asking Sunderland fans to keep turning up in numbers with the promise of jam tomorrow won't always work though.

We shouldn’t have to.
It’s not a great ask and over expectation that a club with gates of 32000 for such a shite league have ambitions of immediate progress and promotion

Pritchard and Evans are doing exactly what they've been doing for the last two years, being injured and anonymous. They were the marquee signings and the ones who will have bumped the wage bill up. It was a huge miscalculation to sign them and also offer McGeady another contract. Almost every other signing has either turned inconsistent, struggled to get in the team or been exposed when they did. It doesn't look like a good transfer window currently.

Its clear the standard of football in League 1 is a country mile below what the top Premier Clubs are playing. We have to get back to our best form next match and dump all Cup competitions . If we do get promoted this season half the current squad will need to be replaced . A five year project imo.

Too many people make excuses for the club
I've not read the whole thread, but what do you expect the average supporter to do - stop going? Then he's not a supporter. Or is he merely blandly accepting the mediocrity by attending fixtures at the club he loves no matter what.

We're where we are because we are not very good and haven't been for quite a while now, through shit management and indifferent ownership. We have no right to be anywhere than where we are right now. We all know that.

Waving paint daubed badly spelt bedsheets around and ringing Talkshite or 606 moaning like fuck isn't going to change that. If people want to vent some steam and rant, this is probably the best place to do it as other posters have the correct context and can empathize.

If you want to actually protest at something specific, the only way to do it is get organised.

i would argue the marquee signings were cirkin, who cost a relatively big fee, huggins and doyle, the others were just fillers.

has for the past 14 years..short put over £100m in and cgot called evry name under the sun on here...why should KLD do that just to get abuse as well?
Nobody is calling for spending at that level but i and others are not feeling the stops being pulled out to escape this horrific div.Lately we have given contracts out to 3 players ,1 brilliant lad and 2 that dont stand out in this div ,those contracts told me there isnt a desperation for promotion this season

Short made terrible recruitment decisions and poor tactical ones on occasions but I don't think anyone would say he didn't back the club financially. Plus, it's a world away from trying to be competitive in the PL to being a mess in League One..

Doyle is a loan like every club at this level manages to secure, Huggins has shown nowt but Cirkin I'll give you. Wages wise they'll be on next to nowt whereas Evans and Pritchard will be among the top earners here.

short was called scum on a thread just today..he spent £100m to be caleld that?
when he was chairman people were always finfing ways to criticis him for taking money out of the club..

Unfortunately we're not. We have a stadium, training facilities and infrastructure setup for the PL, we have a PL size support. Unfortunately we have a league one squad, we are where we are because we don't have enough quality in the team, that's not Johnson's fault. Hopefully things will change and we continue to improve in January.

Got to say i never called him,i thought he did try his best just he was badly advised on all kinds of levels.Kirils problem is he cant really come out and say he is content to build slowly and we will get there when we can.It could get really ugly next week.

You were on here starting threads and having panic attacks all summer, then we went on a great run and I can’t recall you posting too much.

Now you’re back again. Do you only think it’s worth commenting on things when we do poorly? If so, why?

Its hardly rocket science the 'plan', but a minority of fans have bought the spin. Its essentially the same plan everyone else is using and that's find players with value at cost price and fit a favoured formation and each transfer window, you only sign players that fit the model and in military terms your reinforcing success and letting go the failure and eventually it will click. My guess on timescale was this season maybe a 50/50 chance of promotion and next season was the expectation.

The problem with long term views is the short term reality matters and if you find the formation, or plan doesn't work and your not really moving forward at all, then panic sets in and the change of manager. The clubs who stick with the plan despite the failure and in the subsequent season have the expectation and things still haven't panned out, you get an even greater panic sets in and really bad decisions are then made.
No plan ever works for long if the first team isn’t doing well. After watching for 64 years, I have seen it tome and again. The title of Alan Durban’s book says it all, “Give me Tomorrow Now.”

I Started supporting the team a long time ago,i can stop any time
Apart from getting to the seat i paid for they owe me nowt
Even using basic criteria we aren't a premiership club ,fan base may get us a few brownie points .
I still enjoy the match days with the odd exception and cant imagine it would any different in the Prem where we would just have different problems to complain and pontificate about
"why cant we beat Leicester,we are a bigger club " type stuff
Only thing i miss is Derbys

All that is true but every year we are down here is an under- achievement.
