Who would absolutely not want?

I can see why he's unpopular but if you go through his career thoroughly there's far more good bits than bad bits. I'd take him on coaching ability alone.....it might be that he gets a tune out of journeymen but struggles with the prima donna millionaires.

I'd take appointing him as a sign that the owners had completely given up to be honest. We want someone who can grow and develop as he improves us not someone who really is a busted flush like McLaren. I've no idea who would be best but I'm absolutely certain that McLaren would be an awful, awful appointment.

I remember reading somewhere that they made the groundsmen leave the grass to grow longer in the corners of the pitch to hinder opposition players getting elevation on the ball. Might have imagined that, but that's absolutely genius. I think we need a bit more than marginal gains but it's genius nevertheless.

EDIT - it's mentioned in the article

He used to phone his players in the middle of the night and start blowing a trumpet / horn down the telephone. Not sure what benefit that gave the player?
John Terry, Joey Barton both scum

Would not mind Terry. Can not realistically see any change of a Barton appointment, it would be beyond parody. Funny for all the wrong reasons!
At least he’d have the decency to shoot himself if it all went pear shaped

Yes, no need fir us to fire him!

Just seen that Shteve has put himself foreward according to the Chronicle. I hope that this is Bollox. Never take SAFC seriously again if we take him on

The leading betting list of candidates is not very inspiring, but then, we're in L1.
From SkyBet
Gareth Ainsworth 5/4 - No thanks, does nothing for me.
Daniel Stendel 11/4 - Don't know enough about him. Would be more open to him. Possibly
Paul Cook 11/4 - Probably the best of an uninspiring bunch. Unlikely though. Yes.
Kevin Phillips 10/1 - Would be a huge risk, but hey! the options aren't exactly great. Possibly.
Mick Harford 16/1 - Did a decent job at Luton as caretaker, not sure he fancies being the Manager anywhere. No.
Roy Keane 16/1 = Love Keano, but he'd probably murder some of this load of crap, and the never go back thing is probably correct. But Yrs.
Chris Hughton 20/1 - I'd be highly surprised if he would even consider the job. Yes.
David O'Leary 20/1 - Deary me. A big Fat NO.
Gary Rowett 20/1 - reportedly doesn't want the job. Its a no from me.
Ian Holloway 20/1= Definitely NOT.
Others
Phil Parkinson - Has had a variable career. A risk,But better than some options.Possibly.
Mark Robins - Ha also been variable but I'd give him a go. Yes.
Nigel Clough - Possibly, not sure he;s good enough.
Nigel Adkins - Possibly, has a decent lower league record.
Discounting any of the others as pie in the sky or a definite No.

God help us.
ITHICS
